Terrence Crawford put up a good performance against Postol. But all things being equal. He "ran" from Postol the whole fight. Recall Rigondeaux vs Donaire. Rigondeaux stood in with Donaire, much more than Crawford stood in with Postol. Sure Crawford got a few flash knockdowns, but that was more due to Postol simply being uncoordinated and fluky. Crawford also outweighed Postol in the ring. Why did he run so much? Why did Bob Arum slob him down in such a manner post fight, when he boxed and moved away(ran) more than Rigondeaux did against Donaire.

Rigondeaux on the other hand, was outweighed in the ring against Donaire, significantly. He also gave up three inches in height. Rigondeaux stood in much more with a comparatively much more dangerous opponent in Donaire than Crawford did against Postol. He busted Donaire's face in the process. Yet post fight Arum totally disrespected Rigondeaux, and complained that he ran.

What type of fvckery is Arum on?

    Marketing, plain and simple.

Like most promoters, he's got a vast preference towards U.S. or Latino fighters or those with natural fanbases here he can market to. Preferably both if he can get it. He'll twist things however he likes to rationalize it, but the bottom line is that, to him, it's easier to sell those guys. He looks at Cubans kinda like Eastern Euros and probably still figures they're commies. Probably just doesn't like Rigo's face.

So, that's why Crawford gets a bigger push and Rigo got the shaft.

You are kidding right? Arum is a promoter. You think he cares about truth or consistency? If he speaks the truth it is merely a coincidence. Arum would tell you wilder is the greatest heavyweight ever if he thought it would make him money.

He's Bob Arum. He makes money off his fighters.

I think you nailed it with the fan base argument. However, I doubt he has some nationalistic or anti communist agenda that is driving his actions. It's simply money.

So you are suggesting that since he didn't view Rigondeaux as a money bringer, that is why he disparaged and disrespected him in the post fight interview, after he stood in with Donaire and gave him the pumpkin face. He didn't have to be a money bringing to get support from his promoter after probably the best performance of the year.

He is trying to strike lightning twice by marketing Crawford as the "real heir" to the Mayweather PPV throne. Crawford is not a good showman outside the ring and he may have to change that. Not like Broner, but at least be in touch with fans outside of Omaha.

I'm not quite clear what you are trying to say. I think arum was ****ed and over-reacted and lost his cool a little. I also think he knew it really didn't matter because he knows Rigo is not and never will be a big money fighter.

I agree that rigos performance was spectacular .., maybe the best of the last decade.

Crawford doesn't have much to make you love him or hate him. I kind of like him - but he's certainly not an engaging character. I find money mayweather and billions broner to be both annoying and detestable people. Annoying is certainly very subjective. I think they are objectively detestable people under almost any cultural standard I'm familiar with.
