Arum admits Schaefer called his office several times to make the Mayweather fight

    In an interview with Rick Reeno, Bob Arum has crafted himself a brand new excuse. Bob talks about the news that Richard Schaefer has called his office several times :


    "Now wait a second. It's the same as you, calling me, and saying 'I want to do this fight, I'm promoting Mayweather, let's sit down and talk.' I wouldn't do that because I don't know if you're representing Mayweather or you aren't. You don't have a contract with Mayweather and neither does Schaefer. Schaefer has done some promotions for Mayweather for a fee, but that doesn't mean he's representing him on this type of situation.

    Looking at it from Mayweather's perspective, with money this large, I wouldn't want to go naked and fight on a percentage. I would want a substantial guarantee.     I know people have called me and said they talked to Mayweather and they were prepared to put up a guarantee, but I don't know if it's true or if it isn't true. It's not my f**king business. It only becomes my business when Mayweather says 'I want to do the fight and these are the people representing me because I made a deal with them."


    So now the roadblock for this fight is that Floyd doesn't have anyone to represent him. Nevermind, that Golden Boy has promoted all of Floyd's recent fights, all after he fought Oscar De La Hoya. The excuses are piling up and each side is trying to win the PR battle. This move seems to be Arum's attempt at trying to pin the blame on Floyd, because everyone seems to believe Floyd's twitter challenge. Both sides seem to be more interested in winning the PR war than actually making the fight.

    You do know that in this kind of boxing matchups a LOT of people do call and say they are interested in making the fights right?

    You have so called "investors" and "representative" of a fighter calling Arum, Schaefer, Roach, PBF, Pac, Ellerbe claiming they have the power or money to represent and or promote the fight.

    And verbal contracts are non binding in several states. And those states that recognize verbal contracts do have specific requirements that is not with written contracts.

    Why would you ****ing entertain every Joe and Jane without a contract.

    Would you deal with Schaefer without a contract?

    Nice spin-job but predictable.Let me dumb down the article for you: Bob Arum wants FLOYD to contact him, not GoldenBoy, not Fiddy, not any other crackhead Mayweather unless it is FLOYD Mayweather. Oh yeah btw the article still states as of now that Floyd hasn't much as "texted" TR's president.

    yeah i just seen this interview a couple minutes ago.

    this is a pretty interesting quote by arum tho:

    Interviewer: "On the other side, Mayweather could go into a May fight with Saul Alvarez......"

    Arum: [Cutting In] "Just listen to what Floyd is saying. Dont listen to Schaefer, hes a wannabe. Floyd has said that he doesnt want to fight anybody unless its Manny Pacquiao. Thats what he said. Why dont you give the guy credit for meaning what he said. He doesnt want to fight Alvarez. He doesnt want to fight Guerrero. He wants to fight Manny Pacquiao and Manny Pacquiao wants to fight him. Mayweather has to be satisfied that hes going to be taken care of in that of fight. Not by Bob Arum. Not by Top Rank. But by somebody that he selects and then theyll come to us and well put in on a date that makes sense."

    It seems like Arum knows Floyd wants the fight and he claims Pacquiao wants it. he says Floyd is Plan A so hopefully this **** can finally be negotiated soon.

    You mean like talking to HBO TV execs and then publically claiming you are 'negotiating' with and basically reached a deal the other party?

    lol exactly. thats the quote that caught my attention the most and it wouldnt let me copy and paste it so i just straight up typed it. hopefully arum sticks to what he says. floyd should have no problem finding a guaranteed purse from somebody.
