I was reading an old edition of The Ring earlier and they were talking about Pacquiao/Barrera II. One thing which made me laugh, was about half way into the article, there's a line from Arum who talks about how easy the fight was to make and how they have a good relationship. Apparently it took 10 minutes to decide and he and Schaefer had some lunch after that.

It's a genuine shame to see the way things are now. There are many good fights which won't happen because of this utterly pointless, destructive feud. Nice one, Floyd...

This feud will kill boxing if it continues, seriously. The two most talented stables in the sport excluded from fighting each other? It cannot be borne with today's talent pool. Only thing the two can do is commit to copromotion. Otherwise their individual efforts will fail. the fans hate in-house matching

And these two companies made so many great and lucrative fights over the last few years before their feud exploded.

But you can't peg this entirely on Floyd. Schaefer and Oscar are grown ass men and fully responsible for what they say and do.

The best thing for GBP to do if they want to repare their fractured working relationship with Arum, would be to tear up the court order decreeing they take a % of Top Ranks cut from Manny's fights. That would show they are serious about doing what's best for boxing, and they can start on a clean slate. Phoney ass apologies from DLH on twitter won't do the trick.

They definately won't be given preference for big fights with TR fighters until Arum is out of the picture or until they can create a megastar of their own.

Golden Boy, so goes the story, met the Filipino idol at LAX with a suitcase stuffed with $250,000 in $20 bills. After that, Pacquiao signed a multi-fight contract at a Beverly Hills steakhouse. Another $250,000 was to come by bank transfer or check. He then renounced the deal when Bob Arum offered $500,000 by check, and another $500,000 to reimburse Golden Boy.

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

People were on Oscar's nuts before he even went to the Olympics. emmanuel is not Oscar, he doesn't have the sexy face and personality. Floyd-Oscar only did 2.4mil.

    Oscar is THE GOLDEN boy!

They still made many fights together after that. What killed the relationship was Oscar and Schaefer trying to taint Manny as a drug cheat in the media and in the Ring. That really brought all the pent up bad blood to the forefront. It was a calculated attack on Arum's number one asset, which could be seen as designed to ruin his reputation and career. Arum drew the line and that's it, GBP aren't making any more off of Pac, other than designated in that court order. Arum had made sure his accountant friends minimise what they get from that anyway. GBP are really paying big from those blind-sighted moments of stupidity in the Mayweather negotiations.

You could be right. However GBP may not be involved at all seeing how Mayweather has courted Don King recently.

Ugh, this feud is just hurting boxing, I wish they would get over it. Autarky between promotions hurts everyone.
