I have ZERO sympathy for Rigo and Gamboa. They did it to themselves. Gamboa was supposed to be the next best thing and had everybody talking in 2008 and he continued to fight nobody after nobody after nobody. Arum is right when he said Gamboa screwed him on the Rios fight. And I don't really blame Arum for not wanting to deal with him anymore. Gamboa has continued to use that rinse-and-repeat bulls_hit amateurish style when he fights, and it is boring to watch. Rigo did well against Donaire, but still drew concerns from Arum and HBO. But the nail in the coffin for Rigo was how he went about fighting Agbeko. Had he disposed of Agbeko the way he should have, we probably wouldn't be talking about him in this vein. But, it's not an anti-Cuban crusade. There are reasons for Arum's disdain for these two in particular.
they have a stable full of fighters which match up better against rigo, more come forward fighters with heart
not sure how im a golden boy nuthugger when my fav fighters active are floyd rigo and figareuoa ? but ok? of course they reward excitement, its no suprise that boxing is a business aswell as a sport but to bad mouth your own fighter ? well thats just a joke. rigo has had his fair share of decent scraps (though he could go in for the kill a little more as he seems to have enough power and skill to keep his opponents completely gunshy) he was chasing donaire in the 11th and 12th i remember but i mean donaire aient exactly someone u want to chase down he is a very dangerous puncher. i think rigo will start to make things more exciting from now on
Read the article, Schaefer not only badmouthed his own fighter, but also Rigo AND Gamboa, who is generally exciting (and this was before the Perez fight). That you don't even notice it when Schaefer is saying it makes you a GBP nuthugger, as well as making a thread about how GBP put up a great card last week (Ending the OP with "TR take note" lol), all mismatches. But forget the badmouthing on both sides, Rigo was given a full title shot in his 9th fight, made 750k against a p4per in his 12th. Meanwhile Lara makes a third of that in a much more glamorous, TV friendly division.
