Every promoter has ups and downs. If any promotional company had 5 top fighters and three lost within quick succession, there'd be a lot of questions about the company and whether it's on the decline. GBP have been unlucky and some of their stars have lost or left the company, but that doesn't mean much. In the short term, sure, it's not good but if you go back before Pacquiao was a big success, you could ask similar questions about Top Rank. That's how big a difference one fighter can make. If De La Hoya wants to make a massive draw, all he has to do is come back and fight Alvarez. That will make Canelo a massive star, no question about it, even though De La Hoya doesn't belong in the ring any more.

What is exciting for GBP is they are more focused on the international side of it than just America. Alvarez is huge in Mexico, Khan and Haye are huge in Britain and that will continue in the future. If Groves makes it big, he'll sign with GBP, you know that many Mexican's will prefer working with De La Hoya than Arum.

Every promoter has ups and downs just like every fighter does. It's not a big deal unless it happens over and over again, which hasn't happened yet. It's not so long ago that GBP was looking like the future of the sport and, given a good streak, it will seem that way again. If Khan wins tonight and beats Bradley/Alexander and Alvarez picks up a world title, they just might have the new Pacquiao and Mayweather on their hands, in terms of box office success.

Man, stop believing on that statement.

Delahoya was talking to a fake Bob Arum, an imposter. which Oscar thought was real Bob.

Bob Arum's Twitter profile was never verified and Top Rank's official Twitter account posted a message that read, "@bobarum on twitter is not the real Bob. Just FYI. Thanks everyone,"

Would you believe that Bob Arum at 79 yrs. old even have time to tweet or even had a twitter account? I dont think so.

GBP is doing fine, their one big problem is the roster is loaded with aging fighters...

Top Prank lies about everything ,don't believe anything Arum says ,5 years from now GBP will still be here and beyond.Read between the lines I think Arum was talking about his company.

    Check Arum resume.
Promoted Mayweather until 2006 and since then Money has made more than 25 + mil in each of his last 4 fights with Arum his total don't even come up past 30 mil.

    JMM is money these days........

Alvarez is gonna be big money for them........

Hatton is also on golden boy... so whenever he comes back, $$....

At any moment, Oscar can step back in the ring.... But i think they are banking on Alvarez and maybe Ortiz...

Yep, Ortiz was being groomed as the "next golden boy"...Even Oscar said so himself on ESPN FNF.....They put him on the undercard of Pacquiao-De La Hoya too....GBP did everything in their power to link Ortiz to Oscar....

I remember how shocked Oscar looked when Maidana TKO'd Ortiz, and Mosley looked pissed:lol: That whole fight was suppossed to be Victor's "debut on the big stage" by HBO and GBP...

Doesn't GBP have Canelo and Khan? Those 2 alone should be some of the biggest stars for the future.

I very much doubt it, once the Bobfather rots in the ground Golden Boy will take over Top Rank and own most of boxing in the US.
