because the trees are impeding his vision. As the promoter he had the opportunity to create an event of legendary proportions....his crowning achievement. Pacquiao vs Mayweather could have taken place in front of 90,000+ fans at the Palace in Dallas (Cowboys Stadium) and a record worldwide television audience. Instead his anger and anomosities toward Mayweather and Golden Boy now have melted a mega event into another meaningless match involving boxers in his own promotional stable: Pacquiao vs Clottey (or Yuri Foreman). No one outside of the core of boxing fans cares about these fights. Arum misses a HUGE opportunity! Its just boxing business as usual for Top Rank.
I agree with you about destroying a mega-event, but disagree about the Dallas stadium. That Dallas stadium is just not a world class venue. It is a place you drive to, watch a game, and drive home. There is no entertainment around the place. Go to google maps and look at the surrounding area. There is literally a Discount tire (chain tire store) and a Walmart outside. Dallas was in no way ready for this event.
Bob should retire..he is a liar and he is hurting his own legacy...he didnt' do very well in the floyd negotiations..always lying
Pac and Clottey is a great fight! Name 1 Golden Boy fighter who Pac can fight on March 13. Arum is saying 50,000 audience against Clottey in Dallas. That is not bad at all compared to 90,000 against Floyd who really not into the fight anyway. Oh, by the way, it was Mayweather who didn't want to fight in Dallas. Guess where Pacs next fight is. Dallas!
Lets see how good Pac does. **** him I aint never ordering another fight with top rank. (I dont anyway)
rumor has it Team Pac agreed to the 14 window after hearing about it, but Arum refused it during mediation before even contacting them......if that doesn't sound like an old senile, ego-driven, loon who had no intent on making the fight I don't know what does
pac and clottey is a very good fight. This is coming from a myweather fan. Leave mayweather alone now. When he is ready to fight someone worth watching then I will be back on his bandwagon, but until then, let's pray fro some good fights for the new year!!!
I was hoping Bradley would get this fight but didn't even think about Clottey. No way it's an easy fight for Pac, different match up with Clottey, and he looked good against Cotto in a losing effort. YES HE LOST A CLOSE FIGHT.
