Arum claims the offer from Goosen was "bull****"

That's not even what happened. Williams was supposed to fight Cintron and Cintron pulled out in late November after he beat Feliciano. Margo was offered a shot to replace Cintron but Top Rank declined as they were dead set on the Margo/Cotto fight. Clottey was scheduled to fight less than a month later so I'm not even sure if he was available.

 

WTF? Where do you get this crap? Is there like a PW/PBF talking points memo site that I don't know about? Cintron hurt his hand in his previous fight and had to drop out. Both Margarito and Clottey were asking for the fight and instead Williams opted to fight Quintana. The rest is history.:deal

 

Yeah, Quintana was never his first option. His first Option was Cotto. Bob Arum ain't no fool. Paul should have slapped himself for thinking Arum was gonna let him within 2000 feet of him. Next was Cintron who actually agreed before injuring his hand or something. SO he was left with Quintana, and he lost fair and square. But unlike Tony, he never uttered a word of an excuse. He just came back and put his ass to sleep.

 

The same fight you know NOTHING about what happened during negotiations. And yet, here you are always placing whatever blame you can on Arum DESPITE you not knowing ****. And who's to say Goosen didn't **** things up as well? And don't try to make this into me defending Arum. The diffence between us is I know these promoters say whatever they can to save face. The part about cintron is true, but Clottey and Margarito never mad a formal offer. Margo tried to petition results. Clottey was never in the mix until Arum tried to use him to calm down the "ducking" talk that was beginning to surface in the media around September. There was never any real offer in that Clottey bull****.

 

That's completely untrue. Making up stuff will not help your cause.

The part about Margo is definately made up. Arum was pissed at Margo and his manager for opting to fight Williams instead of Cotto. Arum even tried to sue them. Now why the hell would he let Margo go after Williams again and risk ****ing up his Margo/Cotto fight again? The answer to this is he wouldn't. Team Williams are the ones that offered Margo a shot to replace Cintron and they turned it down.

If Arum told Goosen dont call him ever again, then in a recent interview why did Margo just say he plans to fight Paul in the future. I mean, if your promoter just said you wont fight the guy in the future, then why would u still be talking about it?
