Man, you sound so stupid. For you to even think it was a toss up fight was ******ed. By the looks of the fight, did it look like anything close to a toss up? No. You can continue to think Phillips is the 39 yr old, 154lb version of Hopkins if you want to, in the meanwhile we'll 5 yrs from now no one will even remember him.

    Yea...

Vernos legs gave out cause he was shot. IT wasn't the vicious body punches Williams was landing.

By this logic, he ducked every fighter at WW not named Quintana. Now does this make sense? Of course it doesn't because it's 3rd grade logic. Margo isn't fighting Williams in January or next June, so by your logic he's ducking Williams. You have no evidence. I'm surprised you don't see the giant flaw in your logic. Two people not fighting is not proof that one fighter ducked the other one.

He didn't give Williams any fits besides that head butt. Round 2 was Verno's only competitive round. He's throughly beat up in just about every other round.

I'm still waiting for you to back up your claims. And no, faulty, third grade level logic is not proof.

I can submit an article on ESB. Does it make it true with whatever I say?

Already did, I provided you with an article that showed Goosen was considering Clottey as a replacement for Cintron. Its been established on other boxing sites and admitted by yourself that Magarito petitioned the WBO for an immediate rematch. You've provided no evidence that he turned down an immediate rematch. Logic would be, even if they had a fight scheduled (which they didn't) they would take the fight against Williams for a shot at the belt.:deal Is it not the Champ that calls the shots?

Matthew Hurley is a respected boxing writer who is a member of the Boxing Writers Association of America among other accolades. And that wasn't an opinion piece, it was reporting on an event.

Who the **** are you except some delusional nuthugger:nut?

Never heard of him. And what he reported means nothing. All he said was he looking at a few opponents and quitana took the fight.

How many times am I going to have to repeat myself? That article is not proof that Williams turned down a fight wit Clottey. Judah was also mentioned, did Williams turn him down as well? All that ariticle states was that Clottey was one of the fighters that was considered.

Incorrect, Margo petitioned to be the no.1 contender. He did not petition for an immediate rematch. Furthermore, the argument is about what happened after Cintron pulled out of the fight. Stop trying to change the argument.

More faulty logic on your behalf. I don't know if you know this, but there is more than one belt out there. In fact there are 4. If the goal was to get a belt, they didn't need Williams to do so. In fact, Margo won 2 belts by fighting Cintron and Cotto. Common sense would dictate that Arum wouldn't jeopardize his planned Margo/Cotto match again by once again allowing Margo to fight Williams. It is for this reason that they tried to fight Judah in April and then put Margo in there with a guy he already destroyed. They weren't going to take any chances.

Once again, there is more than 1 champ. Williams can't force people to fight him, especially when their are multiple champions per weight class. :deal

Pathetic FAIL on your part. No, you're right, why on Earth would a guy like Clottey at that time want a title shot or recognition of any kind? I mean he was so happy with the way Dibella was matching him before that right? Epic FAIL.

Your entire argument is based on assumptions of what Arum was thinking. If you want to prove me wrong, its easy, just show me the evidence that Goosen offered Margarito and Arum a opportunity to replace Cintron and fight an immediate and was turned down. If you do, I'll concede the point.

DiBella? Clottey is promoted by Arum :patsch

Clottey was being set up to fight for the IBF title that was going to be vacated by Cintron-Margo 2 winner.

Damn you're stupid. Arum is Clottey's promoter by virtue of Clottey getting sick of Dibella not getting him any big fights or recognition.

Clottey has been with Arum for quite awhile now. DiBella has nothing to do with this situation. You're just trying to add bull**** to a thread you're getting owned in. You've provided nothing but an article that says Williams and team were considering certain fighters, but because Clottey wasn't picked, you say hes ducking him.:patsch

This just goes to show you your lack of knowledge and understanding of the game. There are 4 belts and Clottey was in line for a shot at the IBF belt. Therefore, Clottey didn't need to fight Williams in order to get a belt. Who knows why the fight didn't happen? There could be numerous reasons. One reason could be because Arum viewed the IBF route as the more sure way for Clottey to get the title. Another reason could be that Clottey was already on another fight card and his promoter was unwilling to pull him off the card. Another reason could be that they couldn't come to financial terms. Why you assume that the reason the fight didn't come off because Williams turned it down is beyond me. Why would Williams fight Margo and then turn down Clottey? Why would Goosen consider Clottey if he didn't want to put him in there with Williams?

More bull**** on your behalf. My main argument is that Williams never turned down a fight with Williams or Clottey after Cintron pulled out. You have yet to provide any real evidence to back up your claim. On the other hand, your whole argument that Williams did turn down a fight with Clottey and Margo after Cintron pulled out is based on nothing but pure assumptions. It's based on pure assumptions, and faulty logic.

I don't have to do this to prove you wrong. You've already proven yourself wrong. How about this? How about you admit that you don't know what you're talking about when you claim that Williams turned down fights with Clottey and Margo after Cintron pulled. If you admit this, then I'll see what I can do about providing proof that Margo turned down a chance to replace Cintron.
