Pac got $6 million on the day of the fight. He was guaranteed $22 million. PPV sales added an additional $5 million.

I want all these financial people to explain to me how Pac is getting $50-$75 million this fight they were crying he would be robbed of in the other threads. We see his break down for the JMM fight, while JMM was signed to Arum right? So let's use this break down and figure out how the hell he'll make that much money in a 50/50 split.

 

This why I don't think the split has to be 50/50-- it does benefit Mayweather but not really with Pacquiao! It's Arum who would benefit from the other side! Pacquiao's purse is almost set.

 

In that guarantee some of the ppv percentage is pro-rated in the gurantee. Its the same with floyd or any ppv star. It like getting a yearly bonus but u only worked half the year it get pro-rated. So its just the opposite of my example.

 

Did anyone honestly believe Manny only made $6mill vs Marquez? Tim Bradely recieved over a million to fight Casamayor on that same card. If anything Top Rank would want to down play how much Manny makes because he has to pay Golden Boy still. And since when does anyone trust what Mayweather says? He claimed he made some outrageous amount like 10 or 20 million from that wrestling appearance, then it leaked out it was really about 2 million.

A Pacquiao event generates as much if not more money than a Mayweather event, simply because on US soil their about equal, but on the international distribution Manny sells alot more.

50/50 is fair & necessary, if Mayweather says otherwise either he's using it as another negotiation ploy to get something else or he's really not wanting this fight.

 

Are you saying that the $22 million guarantee includes a portion of the ppv sales even though they haven't fought and/or know how many buys they'll get? In turn making his $ per ppv sale lower?

No, Pac is not getting only $5 million from the PPV sales. You don't add what's on top of the guaranteed purse to determine what he got from the PPV sales. A guaranteed purse only means that if the PPV does badly, he still gets $22 million.

He is saying that Pac is only getting $5 million from PPV sales at 1.3 million buys or less than $4 per PPV buy. What's not to get about what he is saying? To simplify what I am saying, the 22 million guarantee includes PPV share based on what they estimate the PPV buys will be. If the PPV buys exceed this estimate, the fighter gets an additional amount which in Pac's case is 5 million.
