If you are black and can afford 1 PPV boxing event per year who would you watch? Timothy Bradley or Floyd Mayweather Jr?

It's too bad Bradley doesn't have more of a fan base. He seems to be a genuinely good guy, but during these 24/7 episodes I think he was trying to play the villain role a bit too much. It's a touchy subject, but I do think it's difficult for African American fighters to get much attention being the wholesome good guy. You look at a guy like Andre Ward. He's well spoken, a family man, hard working....and besides die hard boxing fans....it's almost like people could care less. Then you see Adrien Broner and Mayweather catering to the "world star hip hop" crowd and they're getting much more attention. It makes you wonder if we are seeing perhaps some of the last of the great African-American fighters. It reminds a little bit of professional baseball. So much of boxing history involves the African American fighter (Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson, Tyson, Leonard, etc). But it just seems like american football and basketball are getting a majority of the great African-American athletes now.

Pacquiao can do the same numbers WITHOUT Bob Arum. The fact that he remains with Arum speaks volumes about Manny.

For all of the talk about what a forward-thinking company Top Rank is, they sure suck at promoting guys who don't already have easily marketable features already in place for them.

Top Rank's supposed to be better than "any team." At least that's what I'm told by their ballwashers in the media, like the Maxboxing crew, who always dismiss anyone who exclusively has to promote boxers with non-traditional backgrounds as mere TV bookers in comparison to the geniuses of Arum and DuBoeuf. Yet it's quite apparent at this point that if you don't have exploitable ethnic ties, Top Rank will merely function as a TV booker as well and then cry when their non-efforts result in non-profits.
