Most likely Ruiz will be stripped of the IBF belt because he does not want to fight Pulev and if Ruiz fights Joshua and wins then he's also mandated to fight Usky for the WBO and he most likely will forego that for a Wilder PPV fight. Looks like there might be 4 heavyweight champions within 8 months, and people were so desperate to see the Klitschko's retire because they were boring but at least they were consistent.

This is the kind of pathetic opportunity Pulev has been hanging out for. Hopefully it backfires on him like it did Glazkov.

You mean consistently fighting the easiest opponent they could to keep the title longer than they should of? There should be one heavyweight belt first off. Also sometimes the mandatory challenger is a person nobody wants to see the champion fight. Wasn't Derrick Jefferson the mandatory against Wlad once? Jefferson was knocked out in 2 of his previous 3 bouts with his only win coming against a guy 7-7. I believe Ray Austin was also one of Wlad's mandatory.

Usyk has never a pro bout at heavyweight. Why would he be the mandatory? That is how bad boxing has become. The powers that be should tell Joshua to fight Andy Ruiz in America or where ever Ruiz wants now since he is the champion or they should of made Ruiz vs Wilder before Deontay decided to fight Luis Ortiz again.

If I was Ruiz I wouldn't want to fight Pulev, I'd be screaming for the AJ rematch.

He smashed AJ, I reckon he is going to smash him again and the money is so much better and it kills all the "he got lucky" and "something wrong with AJ" rubbish.

AJ is under immense pressure, he is coming off a defeat and fragile and his reputation is on the line, he loses again and that's it, the big fights and money are gone.

Beat AJ again and you're completely free to fight the winner of Wilder Vs Fury for everything and be the undisputed champion, no questions and no doubt and all for a warehouse full of money.

Pipe down young un.

I don't think disliking a fighter for looking to steal a title off of legit champs should be frowned upon.

I don't it's a bad thing to not like someone over it, but to wish poorly on someone is just foul play imo

Glazkov thought he could steal a title and it didn't work out. I hope Pulev loses any vacant title fight he forces his way into too.

And even if I had hoped he lost via injury- the glazkov one was hardly deadly was it?

Why does this question get asked every single time a title holder moves up a weight class? It seems people would start to figure it out.

After capturing the IBF title Wlad was pretty consistent in making the best bouts he could.

Rematches of tough opponents in Peter and Brewster
Unification Bout Ibragminov
New Lineage RING title #3 Chageav (behind Wlad and Vitali)
Unification Bout #2 Haye (behind Vitali)
#1 Povetkin
#1 Pulev
#1 Fury

Other top 10 opponents: Brock, Tony Thompson, Eddie Chambers, and Bryan Jennings.

Wlad is head and shoulders above any Heavyweight from the last decade in terms of fighting actual rated opponents and making Unification bouts.

But there isn't and it's not the fighter's fought. If Joe Louis was alive today he would face the same struggles in unification.

I don't think Jefferson wast the WBO mando. As to why he was selected as Wlad's opponent after Byrd I. This was an undercard fight on HBO "Boxing after Dark." "Jefferson was featured frequently on "Boxing After Dark" because he was a big American big and his fights were exciting. He was a prospect at one point and been rated in the top 10 prior to his loss to Izon and the Oleg loss was blamed on an injury. Jefferson's size and power was thought to be a decent test for Wlad, and the promise of fireworks with a minor star made for HBO exposure.

Austin was a legit opponent then. Austin fought Sultan Ibragimov to a draw on July 28, 2006, in an IBF heavyweight title elimination bout to determine the mandatory challenger. Austin challenged the decision because the referee missed a knockdown he scored in the seventh round. The IBF agreed with Austin and ruled in his favor on October 26. IBF President Marian Muhammad wrote in her ruling, “The IBF agrees that had the knockdown been called by the referee in round 7, Austin would have been declared the official winner of the bout and been elevated to the mandatory position.”

The Klitschkos were never boring, except in the minds of their haters.
