https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/boxing/11393681/joshua-fury-wilder-steps-aside-hearn/ Legendary promoter Bob Arum is Pulev’s promoter and he has spent the last three years dealing regularly with Wilder’s camp. “If Bob could speak to Wilder and Pulev and get them to step aside, then we would be willing to go straight into the Fury fight.'' Hearn said to the sun newspaper.
Wishful thinking. As a boxfan I would hope it can happen, but be real here... It's a huge gamble for Wilder to let that fight happen, as he would lose all negotiation power if Joshua beats Fury and probably has to take a back seat with all those overdue mandatories in place. He wouldn't bring anything to the table, and wouldn't even be a mandatory for any of the belts himself. Pulev stepping aside for a good amount of money is possible, but probably only with a guarantee that he gets his shot before other mandatories, like Usyk and Whyte... which probably is hard to really guarantee at all.
If Kubrat Pulev has any ambition whatsoever, then that would be a foolish thing to do. He would be at least 40 before he got the gig. And many things can happen within that considerable period of time. For Deontay Wilder, it would make more sense.
how much would he have to pay pulev to step aside? the money he'd get for fighting joshua would be immense compared to that.
No. Better to get Wilder and Pulev completed one way or another IMO. Otherwise they're another Fres Oquendo scenario ...
There is no incentive (from Wilder or Pulev's standpoint) for either of them to step aside. With that being said, I feel like they both should.
In other words, Hearn isn't confident Joshua or Fury can win their upcoming fights. And Hearn has no control to stop either fight.
Fury is a tougher fight for AJ than Pulev and Wildder cannot beat Fury, what are you trying to suggest?
I didn't suggest anything. I think I stated it pretty clearly. Hearn isn't confident Fury and Joshua can both win their upcoming fights. And he shouldn't be. Wilder's already floored Fury twice. And Joshua was down four times against a guy who arguably isn't even as good as Pulev, and he (Joshua) looked terrified of getting hit last time out.
Pulev is 38 and hasn`t beaten a top 10 fighter in years his hands aren`t as quick as Ruiz`s were and his chin isn`t as good, AJ is clearly the better fighter and Wilder was destroyed by Fury.
You're a good contributor Dubble and usually talk a lot of sense but you are seriously off the deep end with all this Wilder stuff.
