They were more boos against nonito who couldn't press the action been behind in the score cards, he was the puncher, the fighter of the year, the p4p...
That crazy that he outright shits on his own fighters in public. Right after the fight. I am not surprised but it is still shocking. The guy really needs to be on espn where he can have all the mediocre guys he want just punching each other in the face for how ever long they can. I mean those types of fights are fun every once in the while, but i watch boxing for the **** i seen last night. If i want to see people get brutally hit in the face i would watch world star hip hop videos or Bum fights.
The Old fart saying that defense doesnt sell. has he been living under a rock and only leaves when theres a top rank card? Doesnt he know that the biggest draw in the sport is a defensive fighter. If he cant promote Rigo then let him go i'm sure there others out there who would jump at the oportunity of working with one of the biggest talents in the sport.
The boos were loudest when Rigo got on his bike and didn't engage. As Mikey said, Donaire had the burden of making it a exciting fight but Rigo just wanted to win.
Those boo's were the product of Nonito fans fustrated that Rigo was too slick. I enjoyed the fight, watched it again and will be watching for a third time when my dad gets home. Clean shots landed and beautiful footwork. I love boxing. I love watching a clinic.
I thought the screw would be in, Arum said the only way Rigo would be a star was if Castro co-promoted him, I told people Bob hates Boxers he's OnePunchKO with money and without a dick in the ass
You knew Bob's opinion just by reading his hacks' articles. This may result in a big Mares fight however as Arum likes to cash out on fighters he doesn't view as cash cows. Which brings us to the American promoting scene: these old ppl. don't want to spend a dime on BUILDING FIGHTERS UP, they just live off the Mexican, Puerto Rican, Filipino etc. paying audience who are there not because Bob Arum did his job, but because they are loyal to their own. Not much of a promoting when you take the venue's and the television's fee, put out some posters and expect the boxing ppl. to show up. Promoting starts with a build-up plan, and Gamboa and Rigondeaux were simply part of Top Rank's JuanMa and Donaire plan, never fighters Arum intended to invest real money in.
He isnt dissing him. Hes just saying the truth. Maybe this is a way of telling Rigondeaux, u gotta be more aggressive and capture the crowd. As a hardcore boxing fan, i respect and enjoy watching a technician like Guillermo but to attract casual fans and a broader audience, he needs to let his hands go more or start knocking guys out. He took his foot off the gas after the 6th when he coulda stepped up and very likely stopped Donaire.
Well, the simplest answer, besides Bob simply shutting the **** up, is staging a rematch. I'd watch that fight again.
