He wanted Donaire to win. He should make the best of a bad situation and try to sell a rematch. Would be difficult as casual fans saw it as a boring fight. He should focus on the technical side. Make excuses that Donaire wasn't 100% blah blah and the rematch wil be better.
Give Rigo a Rolls Royce, dress him up with Louis Vuitton, Gucci etc, give him some english classes and tell him to brag about how much skills he has, his undefeated record, & belittle his opponents naw just kidding Rigo is a hard fighter to sell but maybe he can do what some suggested and try to stage him in Miami has this been done recently?
He doesnt care that Donaire lost u dont know what ur talking about. He was banking on Donaire losing, it gives him more options and leverage. Hes upset that Rigo didnt step on the gas and take Nonito out like he was fully capable of doing.
Principles: Put him in with pressure fighters or guys that can't punch. People won't generally pay to see just him, you have to use him as a novelty on bigger cards or put him in with guys that have a strong following. 1-Put him on a card in Miami. It will sell out. Anselmo Moreno or Caballero maybe? 2-Put him on a card in Japan vs. Kameda. 3-Frampton and/or Quigg in the UK (their appreciation for boxers is typically higher). 4-Put him on a card in Singapore or Macau with Chris John. 5-Put him in with Mexicans as co-features: Garcia, Ponce, Salido, J. Gonzalez, Santa Cruz, Mares. 6-Stop being a ***** and let him fight on Showtime with Agbeko and Darchinyan. There's 14 fighters. Take your pick, Bob. Though if I'm Rigo I'm going to Golden Boy.
What options is that? :huh Rigondeaux has very little fan base. Donaire was Arums chance to keep the Pinoy bandwagon rolling after Pacquiao retired. Now that he's been exposed. Goodbye bandwagon :deal
so you tell his story and nothing will happen. Casuals like to see blood listen to English speaking people and follow somebody with a personality. Rigo has none of those things.
Fight was exciting IMO. Just put Rigo in miami and the **** sells itself. Could you imagine if Rigo was allowed to fight in Havana? They would fill up 50,000 seat arenas.
Filipinos are loyal to their fighters. They will still support Pacquiao and Donaire even after their losses. Even non filipino Pac fans still back pacquiao and donaire. Now if Donaire wants a rematch, hes gotta sign a new contract with Arum. If he wanted anyone to beat Nonito, it was his most skilled fighter out there. Now all hes gotta do is put pressure on Rigo to get some knockouts so he can market him better. Donaire losing was a good thing for him.
