Arum: I will offer PW the same contract and will give him one year to accept.

pavlik is a good fighter. he has had a despicable 2009 for a variety of reasons. He needs to step back up (he was at the top fighting mirand taylor hopkins) in 2010.

After watching the williams - martinez fight I don't think williams chances of success are all that great against pavlik. A moderate punching martinez hurt him repeatedly during that fight. Pavlik is a much harder puncher.

But, its all speculation until they get in the ring..

Here's the bottom line according to The Bob Father:

Paul Williams has one year to either accept or reject a fight contract he already agreed too.

It's my opinion that the "most feared" fighter will do the same thing he did in 2008. He'll allow members of his team to protect him by pricing him out of a fight.

I'd love to see that on the same card, and with the stipulation that the winners fight within 4 months.

I like to bring a little comic relief to the forum so we don't get too uptight!

Hasnt Pavlik learned goin over 160 aint where he belongs, in addition to that Hopkins fight, I didn't think he looked as great in the Taylor rematch either.

PAVLIK-STURM now thats a MW fight and one I don't think anyone could criticize. He needs to fight like at least (like he'd really fight more i know), but 4x next year, Sturm, Williams and 2 other MW's and get back on the radar as a active champion.

I don't think Pavlik needs Bute and if he can keep making 160 he doesn't need to move up until the Super 6 is over and the winner is looking to line up a big fight. Pavlik could move up then and face the winner in a big 2011 showdown. There are some options opening up at 160 now to keep him occupied for a while. Sturm, Winky, Martinez, and most importantly Williams. There's also a few younger guys moving through the middleweight division. All the negativity he has been recieving lately will start to disappear if he just keeps winning in the ring impressively. If he starts by beating Espino down tonight and then moves on and beats his most likely next opponent Sturm, then Pavlik's weak 09 will start to be a memory.

Welcome to ESB. If he fights Sturm he will be accused of ducking Williams. If he fights Williams, he will be accused of ducking Sturm.:yep
