they suspended him on the basis of the witness accounts of finding a hard illegal substance in his gloves!so he got a year, if the results come back clean they will revoke the suspension!and if they had the results of the substance and it was bad he may of been suspended for life!!

witness accounts from professional people are very strong evidence.....

Arum is in a "no win" situation here. If he doesn't show 'best faith effort' to promote him, Marg could end up even richer through a lawsuit than if he fights. There is still a promotion contract in place.

Quick edit. The most interesting thing is that one guy said the pads felt OK to him. So, we aren't talking the "plaster casts" people keep throwing out here. It was something wrapped inside a softer pad.

He will be lucky if he makes 30K as he did fighting Manuel Gomez. I'm picking 4k to 10k at most if not 0.

Oh what bull! You think juicing your ass up to make yourself stronger won't be able to help you inflict more damage on your opponents? Suppose one of these steroids freaks ends up beating a man to death one day are you telling me that roids would have had nothing to do with it?!

Both loaded wraps and loaded muscles due to steroids can be just as dangerous. In fact, what Mosley did was probably MORE dangerous as he undoubtedly came into his fight pumped full of them, while Margo was caught even before the fight so he never actually got to put his opponent in any danger.

Both are cheaters, and both are scum, and I don't see any distinguishing differences.

Good Faith goes out the window if there is an inkling of a chance that Bob Arum could suffer as a result of promoting him after heis banned in Cali. This is a situation that would materially alter the contract and severely limit Arum's ability to perform his consideration. And especially because the said limitations are the fault of Margarito (personally or vicariously through his trainer) any lawsuit would get laughed out of any US court.

And he would lack the jurisdiction to bring the suit in Mexico, as I am 99.99% certain that Arum is not foolish enough to sign the promtoional agreement in Mexico.

I'm not a legal expert/lawyer, but that is a rare indeed. Look how far the lawyer suing a dry cleaner something like $1Mill over a pair of pants got. Yeah, EVENTUALLY he lost, but geez.... Again, I am no lawyer, but if Margo applies for and gets a license in Mexico, Arum MAY have contractual obligations. Even as Arum is saying this, we have no idea if he means any of it. He is still a promoter doing his job. Personally, I'll wait and see how it plays out. I think Arum knows if he fights Margo in Mexico, California may NEVER give him his license back. Margo is not automatically reinstated at the end of the year. They don't even have full results back on the pad. This could still get worse for him. We don't know. I think when things cool down he may sit Margo and level with him. Sit out the year, be an extra good citizen and go from there.

Contractual obligations are not absolute. People who have never studied Contract Law often think that what is written and signed is Law. Not so fast. Even if he is contractually obligated, there are certain events that materially alter the conditions under which Arum's consideration must be performed. One of these events is that Margo is responsible for doing something that ultimately renders perfomrance of Arum's end virtually impossible, or even unnecessarily burdensome. This definitely falls into that category, and thus a lawsuit would not be a viable option for Margo if Arum decides not to risk his own living for the sake of promoting him.

If anything, the most a court would give Margo is the option to be released from his contract with Arum. And that would be a severe stretch due to the fact that it was Margo that caused the unnecessary burden.

Well good for you my man, but I'm betting that you're in the minority and most fans wouldn't let that hinder their decision in purchasing the PPV at all.
