In other words, he will try to cash out Rigo to another much physically larger, more profitable (probably mexican) fighter in the same fashion he tried to throw Gamboa to Rios.

Rigo's career just took the Tim Bradley route, except Bob will keep him on the shelf even longer.

Yep. He'll probably hope Donaire gets his revenge at 126 first, but if that doesn't work, try to match Rigondeaux against an even larger opponent.

My thing is this. If he thinks Cuban fighters are such shitty draws, why does he sign them in the first place?

He rather have some of that small money they generate than none of it.

Things will get interesting for tr in the future. Will non Mexican and Asians sign to tr knowing bob arum is racist

Maybe, but it's a risky business for Arum to try it. The only one really that he could put him in with for that reason is Mikey Garcia, and I think he'd have serious doubts that Garcia would beat Rigondeaux.

He won't protect Rigondeaux from anyone, and I think due to that he'd work with Golden boy for fights like Santa Cruz or Mares because he's not greatly worried if Rigondeaux lost (Im not convinced Golden boy will want to put those 2 against Rigo) but i think he will be very wary of putting his own potential stars in now against Rigo in case they suffer the same outcome as Donaire did. He might then protect them from Rigondeaux

Arum seemingy has no interest in building a fanbase for a fighter. If you're Mexican, or Puerto Rican, or Fillipino, he can do a lot for you. Otherwise, your career could be in trouble. Mayweather, Lamont Peterson, Tim Bradley, Gamboa, and now Rigo. These are all supremely talented fighters who Top Rank didn't put a proper promotional effort behind. Arum has basically stated that there isn't much he can do with Rigo. Compare that to Lou DiBella who did a hell of a job building Martinez into a name.

Arum ought to sell him to 50 who was reportedly interested in the Cuban's services back when he was first putting TMT together.

Rigo doesn't have time for that. He needs to get up with Al Haymon and go over to Golden Boy.

Indeed, Arum's idea of promoting is to exploit the fighter's cultural ties, not their abilities. I've cited this for years as to why I believe he's a poop promoter; not to mention all the BS TR cards we've been subjected to.

The fact that 50 wanted him and is trying to create attention for his fighters and for the sport makes the pairing an intriguing possibility, imv.

Furthermore, I suspect that 50 would be able to collaborate with GB to match Rigo against their stable of fighters.

I dunno about that, I see 50 working only with Top Rank for the foreseeable future, especially after the falling out with Floyd and the trash talk with Oscar.

I ws a big Juanma fan and I knew Arum didn't want Juanma anywhere near Gamboa, keeping the Rican star with his 0.

Do you think that 50 wouldn't being willing to work with GB or that GB wouldn't be willing to work with 50?

Considering that he's new to the sport with very little power by comparison to the big promotional companies, I don't see 50 passing up on possible big fight opportunities that are presented to him.

And GB has already demonstrated a willingness collaborate with Arum to make the fights that fans have been clamoring for so there's no reason to think that they wouldn't work with 50 if there's a good match involved.
