Arum only wants this fight to prove that Manny can beat a black fighter, even if the black fighter is old and has no jab or slickness.

Absolutely ridiculous fight. At least after Mayweather KO'd Hatton there was a trainer switch, dominant performance, and move to his "natural" weight class. Mosley is coming off of 12 rounds of hitting air against Sergio Mora.

Taking a beating for 10 rounds will help you become shot, especially with the time that will have passed between that fight and a potential Pacquiao one.

Berto wont be made , Arum has said Berto is paid too much and wont consider it !!! , never mind the fact that he is still not considered close to being an elite fighter

Roach said Williams is too tall , his weight doesnt worry Roach , and im inclined to agree

Bradley and Alexander would both get brutally knocked out by Mosley right now , and have fought nobody near the level of Pacquiao , EVER !!!!!

    :deal

Read what I wrote and think about it for a second. I'm asking a question, is Mosley shot or not? If he's shot then that diminishes his fight with PBF. Is that ultimately what you saying that PBF beat a shot Mosley, a guy who hadn't fought in almost 2 years and was 39 or so at the time?

Which is it? For me, there's no simple answer. I'd like to say that he was shot but PBF did a really good job vs Mosley so I can't take everything away from him. It's not fair. And on the topic of fairness, does it automatically make it not fair for Pac to fight Mosley?

Mosley was getting close to stopped against Mayweather, everyone knows that Pac would stop him any time he wanted after the 8th. It's a pointless fight when there are more exciting contenders in their prime out there.

I'm not the one that thinks Pacquiao vs Mosley makes the most sense.

You're saying that if Mosley is shot now, it diminishes Mayweather's performance. I'm saying that Mosley is shot in part BECAUSE of Mayweather's performance (and time). I have no doubt that the Mosley who stepped in the ring against Mayweather would be better than the Mosley who stepped in the ring against Manny.

I also think that Oscar was shot against Manny but was still somewhat fresh against Mayweather. Not hating on Manny, it's just that he tends to fight fighters later than Mayweather does.

This is why I can't give Pac the credit that they hype him up to be. Mosley wanted this fight a couple of years ago, but during that time he wasn't a potential opponent. According to Roach, Mosley was a better fighter then De la Hoyle, so they chose Hoyle as there next victim. But now Mosley who is knocking on the door of 39, seems to have the potential that there looking for to further hype up there man. How can fans be so gulilible to mistaken these tactics as being great. I will still tune in if it happens and hope Mosley knock this dude on his ass. Enough is enough with the BS, Mosley should request for him to take a random drug test as well...lol

A quick message to all who think Pacquiao Mosley is just plain silly !!!

Have a little reality check , and go and educate yourselves on how boxing promoters make deals

Mosley is a living serving legend of the sport , who is coming to the end of his career but is still live , he has free'd himself up from the Golden Boy banner in an attempt to secure a fight with Pacquiao who fights under Bob Arum (a situation which shows no sign of changing) , Arum is always keen to make the most money for his fighter and for Top Rank !!!

There are a couple of options out there at the moment outside of Mosley , namely , Williams Martinez winner , Berto , and the 140lb'ers , who right now cannot commit to a fight with Pacquiao , and are with neiboring promotional companies , hitting the profit margin of Top Rank ...............

Only Martinez or Williams sit above Mosley in the pecking order considering the options (aside from Mayweather) IMO ..............

This is why Pacquiao Mosley is being made

Edit : reading through FinalBELL's post below , i thought id add that i see Berto on equal par with Mosley in the pecking order , but it wont happen unless he takes a pay cut for the fight , additionally he's fighting soon so there is a corridor of uncertainty around him , that isnt around Mosley

    PAcmans possible fights:

Marquez- this fight should have happened years ago, Marquez has been through to many wars since than and if they fight at 147 like Pac wants, Marquez gets anhilated.

Mosley- Why? Mayweather completely outclassed Mosley. This is a no win situation for Pac. If Pac wins, he gets no credit from most, if not all boxing fans and media.

Cotto- Cotto probably gave him the most competitive fight as of recent; and thats not saying much. Pac still proved to be a bad style matchup for Cotto. Pac did receive some punishment in that fight and at 154 with no catchweight it could be more interesting?

Berto- Young and undefeated welterweight champ! Sounds good already. Berto does not have the best resume, and I believe is highly criticized for a close decision victory over Collazo. Well, Collazo is a tough fight for anyone and the fact is, Berto is still undefeated and presents a whole different style challenge to Pac.

Bradley- Young and undefeated 140lb linear champion with the slick american style of boxing. Since when is Pac to heavy to fight @ 140?
Pac could not even weigh in @ 147 trying to gain weight for his last fight.
Many have criticized Pac for not cleaning out the 140lb. division properly.
Bradley is no spring chicken and is ready for this fight provided he gets past Alexander. Bradley has all the tools to give Pac both the challenge and credit win or lose.

Martinez and Williams- I will group these two together because in reality, I dont see them as possible opponents. I am not aware of these two ever being brought up by Bob Arum as possible opponents. I believe they are a far stretch when it comes to a height and weight disparity as well. These are two great fighters who are p4p in their respective weight classes.

After analyzing all this, here is my opinion on who pac should fight:

    1. Bradley =Best possible fight.
    2. Berto =Great credible fight
    3. Mosley =No credit, but Pac has not fought him.
    4. Cotto =Clearly defeated already, but could be entertaining @ 154
    5. Marquez=Assuming at 147, Marquez has no chance.
    6. Martinez and Williams=unrealistic.

I'd rather see Pac fight other fighters, but this matchup is a little underrated.

Detractors like to say that Pac has no defense and leaves himself open a lot. Well, let's take a look at Mosley vs. Mayweather. The "defensive wizard" got hit with two clean shots that almost knocked him down. Put Mosley in there with a Pac who leaves himself wide open and we'll be seeing Pacquiao eating those kind of shots throughout the fight, theoretically. It should be a dangerous fight for Pac, and Pac has practically nothing to gain from the victory, so why not?
