"Random **** people say on the internet" is not the same as "a known fact". Floyd paid the IRS out of his portion of the purse. There are quite a few sources stating this fact. If you have any source outside of the meaningless ramblings of idiot forums posters to support your contention I'd love to see it.

JMM took the extra 600,000 because it was free money. Whether at 144 or 146 he knew he was a heavy underdog. Why not take the free money?

Oscar is a majority shareholder but he isn't nearly as involved in the day to day promotional aspects as Arum, or King, or Schaeffer.

He didn't always. Roy Jones didn't either.

I know it seems strange, but these guys over time looked at him differently.

I agree about the past, but I am not sure of the "harm" he did in the 2000s. He was basically a HW promoter and has been out of "clients" since the end of the 1990s.

That can be looked at two ways. Justifiably or unjustifiably, all fighters think they should be getting more. "I am fighting! What does he do?" However I look at "post Don King" what happens to guys' careers? Also, many of the guys get back with Don after the fact. Post Arum FMJ has done quite nicely.

I think he is involved in most of the fights, thats why we see him in sitting at the fights and in every event he is always standing in the back

I think Arum may be worse than King. He just covers it up and comes across or tries to as the good guy. Oscar is on the fence. He's a good guy gone a little corrupt and a bad guy who's got some good in him

All of them have done shady things, but which one of them stomped a man to death? Which one of them has been sued by damn near every big name fighter he's ever worked with? Which one of them threatened to break Larry Holmes's legs? Who consipred with Joe Sayatovich, Terry Norris's manager, to steal money from Norris? Norris ended up getting $7 million in an out-of-court settlement because of the money that was stolen from him. Tim Witherspoon was supposed to get seven figures to fight Frank Bruno. He ended up getting only five figures.

The hair is so high to cover up the horns. What a piece of **** he is.

Don king made big fights happen than he cheats them.

Most of the big fights in the 70's, 80's, 90's are Don king.

Dela Hoya just sells us PPV fights that is good for HBO after dark.

One thing. King made the big fights with champions fighting champions. More than Arum or Oscar. King is viewed as wicked. They are all wicked and want to make the big bucks. King did bring us many great and top notc hed fights. There never was any problem with protecting his cash cows.

The closest thing to "good" out there is DiBella, and even he's an ******* half the time.

There are a lot of double standards being shown in this thread. I doubt anyone here would be saying that Oscar De La Hoya was 'the good' if he was putting on crap PPVs like Pinoy Power and Latin Fury and charging $40 bucks for that crap. but yet here are people saying the number 1 seller of horrible PPVs Bob Arum should be exhulted as being the good. If anyone is good it is either Don King or GBP, GBP has the Fight Night Club cards to showcase talent and Don King has done some of the best events ever for Boxing or need I remind you of the MCS back in 2001.
