All of it isn't fight earnings, as Manny gets good money from sponsorships.

No one knows how much Floyd or Pacquiao are really making, both are making a ton of money and how much they each take home has nothing to do with negotiations between the two.

Its like this; I generate 100 million and take home 10 million, and you generate 100 million and take home 20 million. How can you demand the lions share because you take home more money.

The amount of money these two generate should be the only bases for a purse split.

I am a Floyd fan, and I really don't see how he can ask for more than a 55-45 split. 50-50 is probably the fairest option, but 40 million with no ppv split is bs. I like Schaefer's idea though, just add up all the money and see who generates the most income, and egotiate the split from there.

The terms of the audit would have to be agreed to, and therein lies the dragon. Will they include the de la hoya fights, which would give floyd a huge advantage? I mean, this is the origin for each of these guys super stardom, is it not? Do they count all ppv's pre oscar, which would give pacquiao an advantage? Or Do they count all ppv's against common opponents? Any way they do it would be seen as giving the opposite side an advantage or disadvantage. The easiest way is to just do 50-50 or 60-40 to the winner(unless pacquiao/bradley tanks).

Floyd is the bigger draw. He needs to know that he is making more money than Pacquaio, and he probably does take home more money after all expenses are paid.

I understand mental advantages in a sport where the sum of each athlete's attributes offer only marginal separation from the next guy. This soap opera is getting old though.

As we comment on this message board obsessing about a bout that has to happen, these 2 make millions of dollars and this fight still ain't happening. We've been hood winked!

Sorry pal. Forbes placed Manny at a net worth of only 26 million dollars so I find it quite odd all of a sudden Manny is goingto make what he's totally worth in one fight. But I'm the gullible one. The real gullible one is Manny. He has to give GBP a cut then Bob and the rest of everyone else he has to pay. It's really just common sense. Manny does'nt make that kind of scratch.

If he did make that much, it would certainly be the first time.

That does not quite make sense though, as how much this fight will sell(in reality, and relative to some of Pacs other fights) is certainly in question.

Pretty sure Manny vs Hatton almost didn't happen because of a 5% difference in splits that Pac wanted. If Hatton didn't cave in there would be no fight.. Despite what we want or care about, purse split is a big thing nowadays at the top level of the sport. Ignoring it won't make it go away, so it's something worth learning about to some fans. :yep

Really? That's very nice money indeed for Tim Bradley.
