Although it is at the expense of us boxing fans, I can't help but admire Arum as a master tactician and strategist. He expertly uses his strongest pawn, namely Pacquiao, to control the battlefield against Floyd and GBP until he gets the deal he wants.

Every attack by GBP and Floyd has been countered expertly and GBP and Floyd are no closer to getting the deal they want. The only problem Arum will have is if Pacquiao starts to contest Arum's control and starts making their own deals, which is why Koncz is there to smother any such problems.

Arum may be a scumbag but there is no doubt, he is a master tactician and strategist.

i completely agree, however there is also the possibility that there wil be so much bad blood that it resulys in gbp en toprank not having their fighters fight eachother.

I kind of doubt it, Arum is the type that would probably sell his mother to seal the deal, particularly a deal of this magnitude. He just wants it on terms that benefit him the most.

But how is breaking the deal over testing benefiting him most? I would understand if it was about money as he would be loosing some but hes not loosing any blood..

well im glad somebody really appreciates what he is doing....thats good that he wants what benefits him the most....but to me...the guy is pushing 80 years old....and he has more money than he can count....and yet hes treating his business like hes a man with another 40 years to live....

i understand that he wants to build juan ma/gamboa up even more...i couldnt agree more with him on that front

but is this guy really getting drunk on vacation...calling reporters and making up **** to newspapers as dan rafael suggested? what kind of crap is that? i hope he doesnt carry this bitterness towards oscar and floyd to the grave man.....

Not going to happen. Arum probably picked Clottey because of his low KO percentage. Tough dude with good d but lacks the power and speed of Mosley, and the master counter punching of Mayweather. Arum knows what he's doing.

It's amazing how Arum is perceived amongst Floyd haters. You KNOW he's a scumbag and a liar. Yet folks are willing to accept that any of the potential fights between Floyd and Arum's fighters were all due to Floyd ducking. It's perplexing really.

Whether one believes Pacquiao is on PEDs or not, history is going to show that Arum's handling of this situation hurt Pac's image more than it helped it. If the Floyd v Shane fight ends up taking place and Arum is still on this bull**** (knowing Arum...he probably will be) it's only going to further damage Pac's image.

I personally don't think Pac's on PEDs. I do think he's allowing Roach and Arum to do too much talking for him. The catchweights, the lies, going into negotiations with Floyd planting seeds that it wasn't going to work...not a good look.

We'll see how all of this plays out. Floyd and Mosley have to fight first for my opinion to come to fruition.

nah pac is going to dominate this fight. I'd only be shocked if Pac knocks him out. Clottey is not busy enough and I don't believe he has the power to hurt Pac.

Arum is a dirtbag that uses the media to trick fans into thinking that HIS fighters are always being ducked. I have never once seen a single promoter that has had more "DUCKED" fighters. I could wirte a book right now about all the excuses and lies that he has come up with. He claimed that Margo was the most avoided fighter in boxing yet they turned down offers to fight Mosley, Mayweather, Wright, Ouma when he was champion. He claimed that he would never deal with Paul Williams when he was asked about Cotto fighting Williams then chased, and is still chasing PWill for a fight with Pavlik. He claimed that Pavlik was going to fight AA, he said that the fight was done, only problem was he was full of **** once again. Up next for Arum to **** up is JuanMa Gamboa which he will **** up, no doubt about it. He is also pretty much going to do everything in his power to prevent Floyd vs Pac. Pac will without a doubt fight Margo after Clottey, which has been the pattern of Pac, that is fighting guys that are coming off the worst loses of thier careers with only a tune-up fight or two inbetween.

The only thing that Arum has mastered is getting his fighters high with bribes and payoff, along with media lies claiming that everyone is ducking them...

Who remembers this comment.."I can get Cotto to the top of the welterweight division without fighting Mayweather, we dont need Mayweather" Only problem was at the time Floyd was the number one fighter in the world.
