Bob Arum just failed to secure what was projected to be the most lucrative fight in history for his client (Pacquiao), all the while mismanaging the public relations aspect of his client's name (multiple excuses, conflicting information, etc.)

This on the heels of REFUSING to help another client (Mayweather) secure what would go on to be the most lucrative fight in boxing history (Mayweather - ODLH). Remember the quote: "He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It's not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em."

And this classifies one for the title of 'Master Tactician and Strategist'?

    Sad indeed.

Arum's idea of someone ducking his fighters is "**** you...pay me". The problem is he's one the battle early with this Floyd v Pac fight simply because Pac has a great reputation as being humble and is great to watch. Floyd retiring for a year hurt him in the pr war for the short term because it allowed Arum to go unchallenged with the ducking **** as well as have an entertaining and popular fighter in his stable. I get why the new Pac fans would fall for the okey doke. But there are some serious boxing fans big upping Arum like he's the ****.

The whole mess has always been about Arum. He doesnt need the money and in this case his ego outshined his greed. He simply doesnt want to be involved with two guys that left him even if it costs him a lot of money.
The same crap happend with Don King in the 90's, they just couldnt work together ever.

Wow that is impressive, all except he was working that angle the whole time. I honestly dont believe that Arum was ever going to let this fight happen. It reminds me of the Margo williams fight, a fight in which Arum did everything in his power to stop the fight. Once he couldnt he then when to court to try and stop it. Arum had it in the back of his mind the whole time that Pac wasnt going to fight Floyd. He was the one they would keep saying the fight is off, the fight is off. He was the only one saying..
