After the Hatton fight PBF was being interviewed by Larry. Even PBF admitted that his last 2 fights (Oscar and Baldomir) were not exciting.
Why have a repeat of a glorified snoozefest?

Completely useless. Shane put up a good effort. However, he's old and that fight showed it. I can't see Shane doing any better in a rematch. If Shane was a relatively young fighter, a rematch would makse sense. However, the first fight didn't do huge numbers, and another win doesn't do much to raise Cotto's profile. A win on in a non PPV HBO fight against the popular Gomez followed by a fight over Margarito coming off a victory over Judah seems like the better choice.

I actually think he said a couple of fights ago I gave the fans a dull fight, meaning I think he was talking about just the Baldo fight.

Remember Winky trying to call for a second fight with tito after his boxing lesson he put on. i think thats what lil floyd was doing. this time i say he opens up if they go for it a second time and beats the hell out of oscar for 10 rounds. 2 getting his timing right and the other 10 using oscar as a punching bag. would be nice to see. if that was thecase of course and it may be at 147.

bigreg what do you think of cotto vs collazo?

that would be a better fight than gomez, it will be against a top 10 welter.

I don't like that fight for Cotto. It would'nt be a great fight, and no one knows who the hell Collzao is. Cotto is in his prime right now. If I'm Arum I want him to be in exciting fights and high profile fights. This fight would be neither high profile or that exciting.

collazo has been calling out cotto for some time now, collazo claimed cotto ducked him to fight judah, i think it will be an exciting fights because everytime cotto has been in there with a southpaw it has been a massacre.

Well, southpaws do have more trouble defending against the left hands than as the case with righties. However, Gomez is a bigger name than Collazo, lets his hands go more than Collazo, and gets hit more. It's a no brainer IMO. Collazo is a nobody, he brings nothing to the table.

Just re-watched the interview....he said (and I quote)...."a few fights ago, I gave the fans a couple of dull fights".....I guess that could mean almost anything, but the Judah fight was anything but dull, he put down Sharmba, and destroyed Gatti. I can only assume he meant Oscar and Baldo.

So he did say "a couple of fights ago", or close to it.

**** it looks like there really is no one for cotto, everyone is set to fight each other, i still say collazo would be better than gomez.

No...he said he gave 2 dull fights a few fights ago. What we don't know is how far in the past he thinks he gave 2 dull fights. Baldo was dull for sure, but we don't know if he meant Oscar or not. I can only assume it's Oscar because the last 3 fights before Baldo were not dull, IMO. Maybe he thinks he had a dull fight before Gatti, but I don't know which one that would be.
