Arum: Mikey is afraid of fighting Loma

    According to Arum, Mikey is pulling a kell brook and tryna take a fight he would lose because it’s a win win situation. He is scared of taking on a threat closer to his size in Loma.

    Arum says he is open to making a deal, all they have to do is reach.

    This is surprising because I thought Arum was scared but he is saying exactly what I wanna hear now let’s see what Garcia says in reply to this because I think him going for Spence instead of Loma is stupid decision.

    Thoughts?

    Sounds somewhat plausible I guess. Whatever. Bob has a metric shitton of legacy fights under his belt and a sense of the sport's history. As a long time boxing fan and contributor to it's coffers, I'm gonna trust Bob to get this done. On the off chance that he or one of his surrogates read this; please don't let this matchup get ****ed up like the Pacquiao/ Mayweather debacle. Thanks in advance, Uncle Bob.

    Lol I hope bob ain’t lying because this is one of the top 3 fights in boxing. Crawford vs Spence, Wilder vs AJ and Mikey vs Loma. If those three fights get made next year it will be the best year of boxing in ages.

    The reason I like when promoters and fighters say stuff like this, is because we got them on the record saying it so they are more accountable.

    Who did Kell avoid to fight GGG? He fought Spence in next fight ffs!

    Clearly he was that desperate for a big fight he went after GGG. Not avoiding Vargas like Arum indicated!

    Like I always point out, Arum has made all the fights people said he'd never make — all involving his cash cows or future cash cows.

    He didn’t avoid Vargas because he took a harder fight and made more money however the whole trajectory of his career could have been better if he took that Vargas unification. Imo he would have beaten Vargas, and gone into that Spence fight with two belts and a cracked free eye, not to mention the weight cut would have been easier. If he then beats Spence he could have set up the fight with Thurman for undisputed. It was a mistake choosing GGG imho.

    Hmm not sure a lot of people wants to see Mayweather vs Bradley but generally you are right Arum rarely lets a big fight slip forever, if he makes Mikey Garcia vs Loma and Crawford vs Spence, damn I don’t think any one can doubt your point.

    Juan Manuel Lopez vs. Yuriorkis Gamboa was huge. That was the famous "the cake needs to bake a little bit more" gem of a quote Arum laid down. It burnt.

    It is kind of weird that Mikey wants to fight Spence and not Loma. We can even say that he doesn't want to fight Crawford since he is a WW just like Spence. And both Crawford and Lomachenko hold the top spots in the P4P rankings but decides to fight Spence? Not taking anything away from Mikey for wanting Spence but it makes you think why not Loma since he is at 135lbs too or even Crawford which a win against him will probably rank him among the best 2 P4P. This makes be believe it is Mikey who doesn't want to deal with Arum, not the other way around. I am not saying that Mikey is ducking Loma or Crawford as some are already saying, just saying that Mikey really has it out that he will not deal with Arum at all.
