If Marquez was really serious in fighting Pac, he should have bolted Goden Boy and join TR, and accept the reasonable purse TR would offer. At this point of his career, Marquez should no longer be fighting for the money, but for honor and legacy. But that's just my opinion, I don't think Marquez would share my view. I am beginning to suspect Marquez has lost his appetite to prove to the whole world that he's the better boxer than Pac. Deep in his heart, he knows that he can no longer beat Pac at any weight above 135.
No one is ducking anyone period The force driving a third bout is money. Marquez would be lucky to generate $1.5 Million in a non Pacquiao fight. GBP offer would likely be more than that or at the $1.5 per fight plus a signing bonus. The first neg. of Pac/JMM III fell apart before Mosley came into play because JMM asked for $5 Million so it is unlikely that Arum offered any more than that to Marquez. What Arum most likely offered Marquez was $5 Million to fight Pacquiao and sign with TR with no guarantees on the future fights.
JMM got 3.2 million fighting Floyd and lost and now he asked 5 million dollars against Pacquiao which is just insane like drinking one's pee.
