Even though Dana White will likely never co-promote with SF, I'm always confident he'll make any big fight happen as long as it's within the UFC. I can say the same about Coker and his company. Silva-GSP is more likely to happen than Mayweather-Pacquiao and the current SF tournament guarantees the two best HWs in SF will face off in the finals. I feel lucky to be a fan of both MMA and Boxing. It means more candy for me.

This thread is filled with ignorance and insecurity.

I am from Montreal Canada, Hockey is everything up here, yet they headline a UFC card With Shogun vs Machida and it's just as full as when they toss GSP in there. Perhaps MMA will lose the interest of the casual fans over time but anyone that really enjoys fighting sports doesn't give a crap about the nationalities.

My favorite fighters include Shogun, GSP, Jon Jones and Fedor. I get goosebumps everytime these guys step in the ring/octagon, yet they're from 4 different countries. Plus, there's no reason to go back to hockey as it's very easy to follow both. :good

Casuals are unlikely to permanently latch to a sport anyway. It's always a fad to the majority of the population. Sports like Football or Baseball will always be the more popular ones, that's how it is. But that doesn't mean MMA or Boxing is going to drop off the face of the earth. I'm glad they aren't going to be that popular. I'd lose my mind if MMA or Boxing gathered as many armchair critics who know nothing about the sport as Football has. The Haye fight was embarassing enough, the general public are ****ing goofballs.

Cain is an American, born and raised in Arizona. He may have Mexican heritage and "Brown Pride" but the fact remains he was born in America.

So.... 2 Americans, 3 Brazilians and 1 Canadian. Not really a big diverity as far as the world goes. All North Americans nobody from Asia or Europe or Africa or Australia. As a matter of fact there really isn't even many fighters from the other continents.

Mexican hw champ, brazilian 205, brazilian 185, canadian 170, american 155, brazilian 145, american 135.

SF is dutch hw champ, brazilian 205, brazilian 185, american 170, american 155, brazilian and dutch 145 and 135 champs.

note that all the americans are questionable americans. you could argue mexican etc

all these champs will attract fans from their countries.

mma is also in APAC, so it is quite big with the orientals.

numerous blacks, orientals, hispanics fight and watch it.

this is a promoter who is making pacmans next fight against an old guy on the slide because he can use the black marketing angle and because 'they have their own style'.

arum has always loved the mexicans and puerto ricans and puts fights on for that demographic.

surely the general demographic of a country like american is white male.

he has a point but he is also talking ****. ufc are entering more countries every day and selling and guys like shaq and herschel walker aren't white african male, nore is rampage or rashad or many others. the guys attracted to this sport are also entering it.

During one of G. W. Bush's numerous epiphanies he stated,

"I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully."

.....Likewise, I think the UFC and Boxing can too.....

MMA is popular right now in Brazil.......Silva vs Belfort was huge here !
But I have to say, few people really know the sport here and not many are following everything, more occasional fans than anything else......I have just one friend who like !
Just a example, Mike Tyson is much more popular here than Lyoto, Shogun or Anderson Silva......Believe me !

Even though there is a Mexican HW champ I dont see Mexicans flocking to the sport ..Outside of Brazilians what other ethnicities are represented ? Canada ? Arum has a point about the demographic ..There needs to be some representation from other cultures and counrties ..

Canada qualifies as a white demo graphic no matter how you slice it ..Though MMA is huge it doesn't have the international appeal as boxing does .Sure in some countries but not accross the board .Thats doesn't mean that can't change but there has to be some more diversity ..

Oh I know ..He's on record for taking bribes in the 70's .I do think though eventually MMA will get there ..But you have to consider this though the biggest MMA ppv involved a former pro wrestler in Lesner ..
