    NO DEAL

One of the reasons why Margarito or Cintron will get the next crack at Cotto is because the fight everyone wants to see against Mayweather is basically a non-starter at this point.

"There's never been any discussion on it," said Arum. "I know Floyd doesn't want, and will not fight, Cotto, Margarito, anybody who can beat him. Because Mayweather is going to f**k around forever if need be. He's not going to fight anybody that has a chance to beat him. Talking about a rematch now with Ricky Hatton. Like that fight was controversial or in doubt. But that's the mentality.

"So why would I waste my time even commenting on a Mayweather-Cotto fight? There are other guys that Cotto can fight."

Mayweather seems to be using his former promoter as a crutch not to make a bout with Cotto.

    Not suprised.

I'm not getting my hopes up that Floyd will fight a live opponent again.

Since moving to 140, his career has been a major disappointment, at least in my opinion. I'm sure his minions will be in here to spin it, so it looks like he is the #1 ATG from 140 on.

It will happen only if Cotto loses.

It will happen, most likely until next year.

PBF will hang in there if there is a still loads of cash inside the ring.

Arum himself must not very excited about making this fight and is just playing with the media. He is going to try to milk Cotto as much as possible until he puts him against the big odds.

Cotto isn't the huge underdog people make him out to be.

I think he will lose, but he has a better chance than anyone else at a weight near Floyd.

I want the fight to happen, but boxing is business. I honestly believe the longer they wait to fight the better Cotto's chances are to win. Cotto needs Mayweather alot more than Mayweathe needs Cotto. If the fight happens it will be next year and it has a chance to become bigger than if they fought now. Same thing happened with Hearns-Leonard

I" can see Arums point but he can atleast try to make the fight happen. His fighter Cotto said he wants the fight so he should be trying along with the Mayweather camp to make the fight happen.

Arum is doing what ne good promotor would do. Running hs mouth about how his fighter is feared(remember Margarito), while in turn waiting for the right time to go against the odds and make the big fight. Why should Arum put him in with PBF now when he can build him up a litte more with lesser opponents like he is doing now. Boxing is a business, he wont take that chance until he has no choice

I've heard that boxing is business bull**** and Cotto needs Floyd a million times, again who cares - as long as the fight happens nothing else matters. If Floyd wants to be lb 4 lb king of the hill then hes got to keep everyone from getting on top or just retire. When you're lb 4 lb #1 its a death march facing deadly opponent after deadly opponent, thats how it works and thats how most fighters in Floyd's position do it. Floyd has obviously taken Route B the money route(DLH and dicking around with wrestling), not all fighters would have done that ****.

Right I agree and im talking about next year though. Like how he had this fight with Margarito down the pipeline and planned for a while just as long as they kept winning. Next year the fight should be huge and that's good business for Floyd.
