All fighters might not have done the wrestling gig but they would take the route that earns them the most money.

It never ceases to make me chuckle when folks comment on Mayweather not wanted to fight fighters that are a threat. All those fighters were considered threats before they fought Mayweather then miraculously became non-threats after they were defeated.

I agree, but as much as you dont like it,everything I said is true. Cotto needs Floyd more and yes boxing is a business....it is what it is...anyway lets be real wouldnt you have taken a fight that makes you 20 mlllion+ and IMO ODLH is/was a tougher match-up than Cotto is for PBF.

The fight will happen next year after they build Cotto up some more, Arum will keep running his mouth bidding time when to take a chance and put his meal ticket Cotto on the line.

Well, using the "Calzaghe-Lacy" theory, many many people were picking BOTH Dela Hoya and Hatton (his 2007 opponents) to beat Floyd.

And they were just as ignorant a pick as Lacy over Calzaghe was.

    Anyone actually believes Arum?

He's saying that Mayweather won't fight Cotto. What evidence does he have if they haven't even talked about it? That Mayweather is fighting De la Hoya again? Well, Cotto is fighting Gomez, Margarito-Cintron, then probably Mayorga and maybe Clottey (his mandatory). Arum should say that they aren't interested in fighting Mayweather at this moment and that they prefer to select other 3 or 4 potential opponents for the future.

How can they say that Mayweather is ducking Cotto when Cotto's camp were talking about the possibilities of fighting De la Hoya BEFORE Mayweather-Hatton happened? They said that they prefered De la Hoya because he was more marketable than Mayweather. I have the quote.

People believe anything that comes out of Arum's mouth if it benefits their Argrument. They have yet to make an offer and in saying that nothing won't get done if you don't come to the man with an offer.

lol @ Arum..basically saying he has read PBF's mind and from that will not even bother to make the attempt to offer PBF a fight because he knows that pbf doesnt want it..

    Classic Arum

I agree, I don't downplay Mayweathers opposition. There has been only 2 fights that I think were weak, Baldomir(yea sure he had the belts) and DLH. Other than that his career is fine. But right now he is milking everything for what its worth.

Maybe in his prime, but the Oscar Floyd fought was about as much of a threat as Zab Judah was. Both of them have a good four rounds in them before they fall apart. Zab has mental lapses. Oscar gasses.

Are you implying that Cotto is a " slow plodder?" If that's the case how do you explain him being able to catch slick, fleet footed fighters like Malignaggi and Quintana with regularity? Slow plodders don't tend to be amongst the best in the sport at cutting off the ring. I think a lot people confuse foot speed with footwork.

with all due respect to those fighters they are easy to hit..and they didnt help their cause by how they fought cotto..Paulie i dont know what the hell he was doing he was trying to slug it out with cotto..same with Quintana who on to many occasions stood and traded with cotto
