I'm sure "slow plodders" would have a great degree of difficultly landing on
them both. Which is why they both were known to routinely pitch shutouts. Look at how many punches Joel Julio and Paul Williams landed on Quintana in 12 rounds compared to Cotto in 5 rounds. And I disagree completely with Quintana standing and trading too much. There was a handful of decent exchanges in the fight, no doubt, but Quintana was using lateral movement for pretty much the whole fight. Thing is, Cotto was cutting off the ring and getting off once he had him cornered.

Cotto has good footwork and cuts off the ring well, but he is slow footed...I boxed for3 years I think I know the difference. Funny how you guys cll Judah not much a threat to PBF, but when Cotto beat him after going 0-2 1NC previously you were singing Cotto's praises and how this proved his greatness....you guys are a trip

Mosley and Judah are often times aggressive guys who got away with doing things because of reflexes, and Malignaggi uses his legs for defense and lacks the art of blocking, dipping, slipping, and sliding....non-of the guys are as well schooled defensively as Mayweather....non of them indicate how well Cotto would d against Mayweather

Doesn't seem like it. Was Jose Luis Castillo fleet footed when he gave Floyd his toughest fight and arguably even beat him?

:huh I wasn't singing ****. But if you wanna go that route, I'll tell you what's funny. The fact that out of the top 10 current welterweights, the only one Floyd has a win over is Zab. As if a win over Tata Baldomir "proved his greatness" and solidified his case as the best welterweight in the world.

Yet, you used a part time fighter in De La Hoya as a barometer for a potential Mayweather-Cotto fight.

No not you, I was referring to another poster's claim.

I'm sure Lovemore N'dou, Joel Julio, and Paul Williams would disagree.

judah was not a threat to mayweather but he was to cotto, mayweather is the better fighter, he was already p4p number 1, cotto just got into the top 15 after beating judah.

its like berto fighting estrada, estrada was a big test for berto but for floyd he would be nothing.

Have you ever been in a ring a day in your life kid??? I doubt it, of course Castillo wasnt fleet-footed but Castillo and Cotto have two totally different approaches of applying pressure. Castillo was taller and applied more boxing skills, Cotto is more deliberate with his approach and stayed inside more and went to work on the ropes, whereas Castillo ws better at center ring than Cotto, but threw a wider variety of bodypunches.

Baldomir gave him the distinction of being champion....no one ever said it made him great.which is something Cotto has never done and will never do aslon as Mayweather is the champion, sorry WBOgus means very little. Has Cotto ever beat p4p fighter...nope...Mayweather did it in his last fight with a true world champion and the guy that had the same WBAint**** trinket Cotto claims while still being junior-welterweight champion.

I guess that's why before Zab lost to Baldo many people almost half here said Zab had the style to beat PBF and it was one of the biggest fights in boxing.:deal

Can you read....I said ODLH(boxer natural counterpuncher) is a harder stylistic match-up than Cotto(plodding bodypunching stalker) genius :patsch I never made it a barometer for anything.

oh here comes the "i've boxed before so i know more" bull****.

i've been in the ring and i dont see what that has to do with what we are discussing, it is totally irrelevant.
