"Bruce Trampler (matchmaker for Top Rank) always said that Ortiz has alot of tools, but he thought based on what he had seen that Ortiz lacked courage, and that when the going got tough Ortiz would quit. That's what he did - can you imagine a fighter saying; well, I got knocked down and I wasn't going to go out on my shield??"

well i thought maidana actually possesed the better skills then ortiz.....ortiz really did show a lack of heart when he KNEW he had knocked down maidana 3 times, and got hurt in the 6th and said no mas.....WTF?

maidana beats ortiz everytime.....he is just the better fighter....

Arum may be a trite annoying from time to time but an idiot he is not! Remember he is the one still standing after his promotional wars with Don King.

.....Arum commented that Golden Boy's stable of fighters had been effectively "wiped out," and he scolded HBO for setting aside advance dates for the organization. Arum also added that everything had "come home to roost" for Golden Boy and HBO, and closed in saying that Golden Boy "isn't building anything" with it's fighters. He called the upcoming feature between Juan Diaz and Paulie Malignaggi the "battle of the losers."

I think golden boy goes for name and big money fights (ASAP) key word ASAP.....thats why top rank is doing well with young guys at the lower weights (up and comers)

well bob is taking way too much glee in his rivals problems at the moment but i think in a general sense he is right

arum really knows how to build up fights and fighters... gbp more often than not have made dough from just buying established stars and creating fights with them... when they've tried to build their own team from the ground up so to speak, the results havent been so hot

IMO the only reason he is still standing is due to racism, all promoters are POS in general but no one gets demonised or investigated the way King does, Arum has been caught doing **** that would've got King banned from the sport & sent up the river.

Arum is big POS, picking on a humble kid that went out there and fought hard, RJJ used to always talk about people not being satisfied until they see blood, Ortiz was gonna be stopped in that rd no matter what, he had been broken down.

Wait for him to sign with Arum and he will be the most courageous fighter since Rocky Marciano.

"Unlike Maywaether, my guy isn't scared of fighting fighters who have a chance to beat him. Mayweather would never fight a guy as dangerous as Ortiz"
