As you know, there are serious talks right now of a possible Pacquiao/DLH fight, but there has also been talks of a Cotto/DLH fight.. The first person to really call out DLH was trainer Freddy Roach.. After the Diaz fight, Arum finally started talking about the possible megafight, but has also been telling Roach to keep his lips zipped and that all he was really doing was pissing DLH off..

Now Cotto is also under the promotion of Arum and is set to fight Margarito this upcoming Saturday.. Now what I'm getting to is, what if Arum is really considering a fight between Pac/DLH? He has been known to play some tricks and always changing up plans.. DLH hasn't even said anything recently about signing for a fight with Pac.. Now who do you think Arum wants to sign a fight with Oscar? Manny or Cotto? IMO, I would think Arum would rather set up a Cotto/DLH fight seeing as how Cotto is the man at 147 right now and fighting DLH could be his biggest payday as well earning more recognition..

I'm only about 30% sure that the Pac/DLH fight happens.. I think Arum has been talking about a possible fight to get us thinking about it and to shut Roach up.. After Cotto vs Margarito, I seriously think we'll start hearing more of a possibility between Cotto/DLH.. DLH has said he wants one more fight and fighting the man at 147 would be a good way to go out in style.. Besides, Oscar would get criticized for fighting such a smaller fighter as he has always been known to take the big fights..

    What are ya'lls thoughts?

I agree. DLH would be called out for fighting too small of a guy in Pac, but Arum and Golden Boy can keep the Mexico vs. Puerto Rico theme going if Cotto is the man. Either way, I am ready for DLH to retire; his last few fights have done more harm to boxing than good.

I will only say that the winner of Cotto vs. Margarito should square off against DLH. If it is Cotto, it would be great since we would have a new superstar taking on the defining fighter of this generation. Hopefully, I would like to DLH lose and finally shut up. Boxing needs to move past him.

Indeed.. Even though DLH is mexican-american, it would still make a good rivalry fight not to mention it would he his last fight against the man in the welterweight division.. DLH has said once or a couple times he would fight Pac, but hasn't said anything serious or official about it yet.. I have a real good feeling that a Cotto/DLH fight will be in the talks after Saturday (as I also think Cotto will defeat Margarito)..

I think all this talk is solely because Arum wants Roach to stop talking.. I don't think he's really talking with the Golden Boy other than a possible Cotto fight in December.. I could be wrong though.. It's just speculation..

In addition there to being a Cotto victory, Cotto must also not be badly damaged from his affair with Margarito to put in question a fight against the Golden Boy in December.

I believe he'll be alright after the fight.. I see him fighting a smart fight by just boxing with Margo and counter-punching him.. Cotto may be rocked or stunned, but has amazing recovery.. Margo is a hard hitter, but I don't see him damaging Cotto too bad for him not to be able to take a fight at the end of the year..

I was just thinking of why would Arum put two of his welterweight fighters in a war that could hurt his chances of making more money off of them in Cotto and Margarito other than to please the fight fan. I mean, no matter who wins, doesn't Top Rank get deleteriously affected by this fight?

I read that earlier off PacLand and I think the guy who said that is just talking ****.. No way would Cotto be easier than Pac.. I'm still 30% sure that Pac/DLH will take place.. Team DeLaHoya may be talking, but I haven't read anything about Oscar talking on the fight..

cotto-dlh, IMO, would make more sense than dlh fighting pacquiao. dlh-pac is more of a marketing blitz to hype more the fighters involve. im more inclined to see a cotto-dlh fight as both fighters bring more even odds to the table..

Like I said before, if Cotto beats Margarito, and DLH is up next, I would be rooting for Cotto against the Golden Boy.

Indeed.. He'll make boat loads off either fight..

You said you think DLH wants Pacquiao.. Do you think he wants that fight because there would be more money in it or because it would be an easier fight?

If Steve Forbes can make Hoya's face swell up like a melon, then how much more can Pac do to hoya. Oscar can fight Pac and still come out looking like he put on a good performance and say that Pac was one tough customer. Becasue if Hoya gets in the ring with Cotto, we will have a one sided blitz that result in Oscar's permenant retirement.

Good. I want someone to retire the Golden Boy.
