"Top Rank president, and founder, Bob Arum informed The Fight Network that should WBC-WBO Middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik get by Jermain Taylor this February in their rematch contractually set for 166 lbs., Pavlik will defend his belts against undefeated middleweight John Duddy, in late June at Cleveland's Paul Brown Stadium.

Duddy did his part this past Saturday, edging former two-time world title challenger Howard Eastman in Belfast, Ireland."

So of course this is only if Pavlik beats Taylor again. Provided that he does, what does everyone think of this matchup? I've always thought Duddy gets hit too much, from the fights that I have seen, and I think Pavlik is a big step up for him. I like Pavlik to beat him by KO or TKO around the 6th or 7th round. I see it as being an entertaining but probably one sided match til that point.

I think this clash is inevitable. They might as well feed Duddy to Pavlik now rather than later. It's a good chance for Duddy to cash in on his fame and fan following. I just hope he doesn't suffer any permanent damage. Pavlik KO3 Duddy.

Duddy's defense improved alot against Eastman and he only took 3 or 4 flush shots instead of the usual 20 or 30 although all it takes is 1 from Pavlik to put your lights out.He definitely has a good chin so i think he can last 6 or 7 rnds.
Many will still say Duddy doesn't deserve a shot but after Pavlik,AA and Taylor there is a big drop-off in talent level at middleweight so why not Duddy? At least he is entertaining

In other news, expect the Duddy express to derail sometime in late June.

So this is subject to Pavlik beating Taylor and Duddy beating Matt Vanda(Shouldn't be too hard) in Februrary and then fighting for the European title(which is what his promoters have claimed they want) in March, on Paddy's day .

Then again the European title belongs to Sebastien Sylvester and Duddy's camp have claimed they want John to fight for the European title in Belfast . I could see that being rather difficult due to the German's popularity in his own(much larger) country .

If Duddy beats Vanda and Sylvester(winning him the European title) he will have finally earned his World title shot . Unfortunately I can't see him winning it , Pavlik by tko .

YIPES. Pavlik destroys Duddy. I'd be schocked if he lasted more than two or three rounds.

I feel bad for Duddy because he'll get destroyed by Pavlik. I like the guy but damn....

on another note why the **** is the fight going to be in Cleveland? what the ****... i know Pavlik is from Ohio but you've gotta think the draw will be pretty ****in **** there. why not keep it on the eastcoast where Duddy can sell out the arena in a minute?

though actually... i might have to go visit my cousin in Cleveland :D

I guess an easy fight is OK after he KO's Taylor again. Would have liked to see him fight Abraham though.

Your darn right Kelly has earned an ez one for a change. And after that the talk of a unification with Abraham will begin. I can see that fight early next fall. He'll crush AA easier than he did Miranda. But I think we're getting WAY ahead of ourselves now. Taylor in Feb. 2008 is the current focus of attention.

As long as Pavlik doesn't let the fame get to his head (and I don't think he will), this should be a pretty one sided fight...Kelly by brutal KO.
