Boo hasn't Calzaghe also been calling out Roy Jones for ever?

Yeah, don't cha love these guys that talk with their mouths & not their fists?

I'm not surprised JC wants no part of Kelly. He may be a shoe shiner, but he's not an idiot.

Pavlik should be carefull what he wishes for, Calzaghe will never underestimate him like he did hopkins. Pavlik is made for Calzaghe, very readable for an old pro like Calzaghe. It just depends on Calzaghe stamina.

Well, not according to his autobiography and the link Boo has posted numerous times.

    That doesn't count, apparantly.

Nor does Calzaghe mentioning Jones at least as much (probably more) than Pavlik in the last 'seven months' where he's apparantly being calling Pavlik out incessantly.

Unfortunately both fighters have been bringing in low numbers and that could be why Calzaghe wants a fight in Britain before he risks it all with Pavlik.

Both fighters deserve some easy money fights IMO but with names like Jones and especially locket, they will also compromise their customer relations.

Promoters get cuts so they will take location into account. Gate isn't that big a part of the overall package now from what I understand. Sure, you fill a 60K seat stadium, but how much is the guy 100 miles up paying for that ticket?

I know you must have seen the interview right before the Hopkins fight where Joe specifically stated that a fight with Jones would be a disappointing way to end his career, and that he wanted Pavlik unless Taylor beat him in their rematch. If you still haven't seen it, here it is

    Listen carefully at around 6:53.

He would have been almost completely unexposed ... now he has to figure out which big money fights to take against the fear of getting KO'd or embarrassed

As I've said before, I'll wait till the dust settles. I'm hoping Calzaghe's just playing this thing out to drum up as much money as he can get for the fight Pav. It's starting to get interesting. That was a well done article.

Well, looks like a little pressure will need to be applied. I wondered if Joe had changed his mind when he didnt' show up for the Pav/Lockett bout. If he wanted to fight him, he would have been there.

Can't believe that Joe really means the next one is gonna be his last fight, so I think another one or two fights at light heavy with Jones/Tarver/Dawson makes sense whilst in the meantime Pavlik will hopefully have taken out Abraham and sewn up the middleweight division. After Abraham there isn't anybody at 160 with Sturm being unlikely to agree a fight. Although if Miranda manages to beat Abraham anywhere near convincingly then Pavlik-Abraham is no longer such a viable option. So it's understandable why the Pavlik camp really want Calzaghe. Of course if Calzaghe is lured out of so called "retirement" next year then it makes it even bigger - a la Mayweather-Cotto
