"Certainly I have Terence Crawford available to fight the winner of Taylor vs. Ramirez. That would be a tremendous fight. [Crawford] was going to fight [Manny] Pacquiao in Abu Dhabi, but that didn’t come off, So we’re looking around for a big fight for him with spectators sometime in the fall of this year."
Whilst I wouldn’t say this fight would be bad, I would far more like to see Crawford in with a top 5 guy at 147, preferably Spence.
Taylor was deffo making noises about wanting to go up for Crawford. But would be ballsy as feck to go straight up and fight Bud without any tume up / acclimitisation fight at 147 first - for Taylor or Ramirez. Not sure it does a whole amount for Crawford's 147 resume tho - he needs to be taking on the established 147 names! Spence, Porter, Thurman, Swift Garcia!
Oh, I get that, it's not the moving up, it's the moving up and straight for the Top Dog (or at least one of the top 2 dogs) that raises eyebrows here - that happens VERY rarely.
Heck no. People were complaining when teo was talked about as opponent to fight the 140 winner, so i expect this to be looked down on exactly the same way. Crawford stays ducking.
I would rather see Teo vs the winner. Im not interested to see Crawford or Spence fighting anyone at 147 other than each other.
