According to a place where there's boxing scenery, Arum is claiming that the WBC will not approve a showdown with Cotto and is leaning on enforcing Berto to fight his mandatory Collazo.

I personally never really bought into this this happening. Even If the WBC allowed it why would Berto's handlers put Berto in with Cotto all of a sudden seeing how they been so cautious with the selection of his opponents thus far. Collazo makes the most sense on multiple levels so I hope a fight with him and Berto does come to fruition.

As stupid as it seems, Cotto can't just cut the line. Collazo has been waiting for his shot for a long time.

Berto should come through the challenge of Collazo anyway, then hopefully the Cotto fight can be set-up. In the mean time, Miguel needs to find a suitable opponent and get back in the ring.

While Cotto is a risky fight, he's damaged goods and worth a gamble. Some fighters are never the same after a beating like Cotto took and Berto could rise to mega status with a win. The time just may be right and a loss to a focused Cotto wouldn't hurt Berto's ranking if he looked good no mater what the outcome.

Cotto is a huge name, which= money, you think Berto's camp wouldn't fight ODLH at 154 if they could, it's about getting a huge payday which is what Cotto brings plus he just got his ass kicked so Berto could win big and get paid big.

A fight against Cotto would be a high risk high reward fight. Fights against the likes of Cotto or any other elite welter will come in due time and so will the money. Why would Berto's handlers put him in now with such a jump in competition when the clear objection has been to slowly intensify his the quality of opposition fight by fight. Berto is and has been in a unique position of fighting regularly on HBO as a prospect and now recently champion over the years so he's made more than the average prospect coming up; another reason why they shouldn't and probably won't rush into a Cotto fight. I would say he's 2-3 fights away from realistically fighting any of the elite welters.

good because Cotto would've had alot of trouble with Berto. Cintron is a way easier fight.

Berto should not fight Cotto in the first place this is a big step up and his only advantege at this point would be speed. This is how I predict things will go down:
    Cotto vS Cintron
    Berto vS Collazo
    Margo vS Sugar

I thought Berto would actually be a tough fight for Cotto, one i thought cotto would win, but thought Berto would def make a good go at it....

And i also think this.... I will actually be picking Collazo to outbox Berto

    Crazy... i know
