According to Arum, company President Todd duBoef complained to Sturm regarding the issue - and Sturm explained to duBoef that Mayweather-Maidana was struggling to sell tickets, and as a result the MGM did not remove those promotional items during Pacquiao-Bradley fight week.

The official live gate numbers for both these fights will eventually be released. You want to bet which fight pulls in a higher number?

If you want to say he's lying, that's fine. But why should we believe Arum? Anyway, live gate figures are very easy to get a hold of. The official numbers will be made available for everyone to see.

Arum is a cancer. He really is.

The "fight somebody real" part made me laugh. Arum was his promoter for his first 35 fights (maybe 36?).

Mayweather has fought at the MGM Grand in every fight since his split with Arum. Perhaps it's indicative of why Arum is such a shitty businessman that he thinks that doesn't matter. Perhaps Arum deciding to take Pac to China has nothing to do with it. Loyalty, it seems, is not a factor in anything.

That's before you consider the numbers. Mayweather makes more money for MGM than Pac. It's that simple. His promoters put on better undercards too.

"Arum, who handles both Bradley and Pacquiao, was angered by a 20-story high mural advertising the Floyd Mayweather-Marcos Maidana fight that was hanging on one side of the massive hotel, along with the three-sided signs hanging throughout the casino with two sides advertising the Mayweather-Maidana fight and one advertising the Pacquiao-Bradley II fight.

Those three-sided signs have been changed to advertise Saturday’s fight on two sides and the May 3 fight on one side. The large Mayweather mural, however, has been paid for by Golden Boy Promotions and cannot be removed.

What angered and concerned Arum more than anything, he said, was that a sponsor, Tecate, “spends millions promoting this fight and gives money to the MGM Grand – which they aren’t going to get – and most of the signs are for Mayweather’s fight sponsord by Corona,” and that “HBO is putting on this fight and all they see are Showtime signs. Give me a (bleeping) break."
