This was supposed to be a showcase. Tiny, old, but, credible fighter. This was set up for him to look great and he failed.
Not sure if you noticed, but there were times in the fight when Arum was laughing when the crowd was in an uproar.
I'm actually glad this happened. Because now all the ******ed talk that Donaire is gonna fight Gamboa goes down the drain. After tonight all Donaire and Arum proved. Was that Donaire doesn't belong in the same ring as Gamboa and Arum is just a senile old man. Now I hope common sense prevails and Donaire fights Abgecko, Mares, Darchinian, and Perez.
Styles make fights but champions adjust, Donaire learned something tonight and I hope he takes it into his next fight with a defensive survivor. He was much bigger ,faster and a better all around fighter. He should have cut that ring off and banged that body until the little man folded. Donaire is still one of my favorite fighters.:bbb:bbb:bbb
What does beating Rigodeaux prove? He only has only eight fights and all of them was against nobodies. Get the **** out of here newb. Donaire wants to show the world he can fight Gamboa. Tell him to clean out his division first.
It has nothing to do with "looks", it had to do with him standing in front of a smaller outclassed opponent, with every possible advantage, and having no clue how to be effective. He looked lost, showed no ability to adjust, and in my opinion didn't look look like one of the five best fighters on earth. That being said you're welcomed to kiss my ****ing ass, if you want to make a case then please feel free, if not then **** off. :good. Im not a noob, and I know my ****ing boxing, sorry I don't meet your posting standards...speaking of, this is a gem that I responded to! :tired
Name them Anyone else and you would be bitching how its time for Donaire to start fighting better guys.
The fight may not have been that entertaining tonight but i doubt HBO or Showtime is going to take a pass on a Donaire fight anytime soon or at least until he loses.
