March doesn't make sense for this fight anyhow. Why put it up against the NCAA tournament when you can do it in the summer when people are planning to travel? Or in September like a bunch of other big fights have been recently?

PAC lost his first venture into politics, to a woman,3 years ago. elections in the Philipines happens only every 3 years. this plan of his to run again for an elective position is 3 years in the making. its not a sudden decision as what others want to believe.

i got the sky copy and the fight at the cinemas has no commentator so no. if he indeed said that they are planning something else. as i see it, its impossible really for pac to fight floyd coming march to may 2010 because he would be campaining and running for elections. september to late this year would be a good date. if he fights this march it would be in the philippines and some kind of tune-up so that he would not need much of time to prepare.

i just love how floyd fans say that pac is ducking floyd because it will not happen in march but in september.

Read the entire article. The question was asked immediately after the fight, so obviously, Roach was thinking that March was too early basing on the fact that Pac sustained injuries as well. Apparently, there was a change of heart later and agreed that March is ok.

september is actually a good date. if floyd really wants to fight in england first and pac pursuing his dream of being a public servant. of course i don't care about pac running for office but if that is his priority, i would not blame him. we already knew all about this even before he fought ricky hatton.

Pac is running for congress. Thats his life aside from boxing. Now those people who's profession is to post in the internet and are paid by ESB can go on doing your jobs.

PBF can go take a tuneup against any class B WW's. And Pac will fight him after his bout with politics.

    Quit whining already.

Pacquiao wanted the fight at march 13, he's a busy guy, fight on march then go on campaigning to the election till May.

Roach tried to get Void to fight Pac before the Cotto fight. Void refused to fight Pac, Cotto, Margarito, Mosely and who knows who else?

you're late, Roach already contradicted himself by saying March was too soon and Pac needs to recover from his injuries..

If the fight happens, the date of March 13 has been floated. However, Roach thinks that is too soon.

Although Pacquiao beat Cotto, it was a physically demanding fight. Pacquiao suffered a broken right ear drum in addition to the cuts and bruises on his face, Roach said.

"May or June, in that ballpark," Roach said about when he thought the fight should happen. "March may be too close to get a big fight like that going. I'd like to see Manny take a rest and then get into it. We'll have a change in sparring partners and style because Mayweather is so different than our last four opponents [Cotto, Ricky Hatton, De La Hoya and David Diaz]. We have to study him really hard. But I know Mayweather really well. I just need Manny to see what I see."

could it be because it was said after the fight and now seeing that pac's injury healed fast, he is now pushing for an earlier date? anyways, i cannot believe that pac would be ready for floyd by march. for a tune-up maybe but not floyd. it would be better for this to fight to happen in september or late this year while floyd fights in england and pac finishes his campaign. i just find it hilarious that floyd fans think pac is ducking floyd because they want it on a later date. :patsch

Actually Roach did not contradict himself. That "march too soon" was a reply when he was asked after the fight for obvious reason that pac suffered injury as well. However, after the dust had settled, Pac agreed to a march fight but Mayweather balked in the negotiation.

Do the timelines and you will see that Roach was consistent.
