If Arum makes this fight, he will go down as ATG promoter in history http://www.mb.com.ph/articles/300807/floyd-maybe-next-if-pacquiao-wins MANILA, Philippines — If the May 7 fight turns out the way he hopes it would, Bob Arum will again look at the possibility of putting Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather together, stressing that such a megafight can be done. “That fight is not hard to make. It’s up to Floyd Mayweather. If Mayweather wants to fight Manny, I mean, obviously, Manny has to get by (Shane) Mosley (on May 7 at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas),” Arum told Fanhouse. “But of course we would look to fight Mayweather next. It’s not a hard fight to make. It’s not hard at all. All Floyd Mayweather has to do is to say yes, and everything else would fall into place,” Arum said. Arum’s optimism and renewed interest in Mayweather stem from his recent association with long-time rival Don King. Last week, Arum and King were together promoting their March 12 show featuring Miguel Cotto and Ricardo Mayorga and ringsiders believe they got the chance to delve into the possibility of making a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight down the line. Mayweather, however, is in a legal bind and is due in court for domestic violence and misdemeanor battery charges. If convicted, Mayweather can be sentenced to as much as 34 years in prison. But if he escapes conviction, Mayweather will be back in the boxing spotlight and a third attempt to make a fight with Pacquiao would again set in motion. A few months back, King was visited by Mayweather in Florida and although nothing came out of their meetings, it is widely believed that the unbeaten fighter will tap King to represent him if ever he decides to face Pacquiao. Efforts to make the fight have failed twice owing to differences in drug testing. Still, King sees a rosy picture with him in the scene. “The two of them meeting is inevitable. They should meet,” King told fanhouse.
Arum said months ago that he hopes Mayweather signs with King and that he and King can make the fight a done deal in one weekend. I think Arum didn't want the fight with GoldenBoy this entire time. Floyd has said on several occasions that if Manny doesn't agree to the full OSDT there will be no fight. Manny has said that he would do it but his Team asked for cut off. Arum will make the fight if FM signs with King and it will have OSDT with no cut offs. Mark my words.
Doesnt he go against pac wishes by doing that then? I wonder how this new pac on showtime situation would come into play in all this. I always thought and still think Arum is throwing pac for the wolves once he showed decline I don´t expect it to be made in november. Marquez 3 or berto are more likely.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmqeBye3KhA[/ame] @ 2:25 Manny says he will do it. He says he agrees to see if thats the real reason Floyd is stalling or some ****. Now if Manny agrees then somebody needs to send his negotiating team the memo bc they proposed a 7 day cut off in the negotiations. They are all playing ****ing games if you ask me. People can call Floyd scared or whatever but to have this fight stall over drug testing is a disgrace to all athletes in a time that PEDS are in sports.
Same **** from Arum, he only says this crap so people keep asking Floyd about the fight and not him so he can always say 'well im trying to make it happen' when all he's doing is saying he'd like to make the fight happen instead of actually making the fight happen.
I just don't understand how this **** is stalling over some damn testing. Anyone who knows how OSDT works knows that they will not draw blood the day of the fight or even 2 days before th fight bc they don't have to do that ****. Random just means that they have an option and it keeps a fighter from putting something in his system all the way up to fight night. Manny agrees to testing but his team proposed a 7 day cut off. :-(
I have already given up on this fight, I think it will never happen and Arum is bullshitting again, almost everything he says is a lie so I don´t believe him. Floyd may never fight again anyway.
You have no clue what took place regarding drug tests during that second round of negotiations... koncz has no clue either and has jack shut to do with negotiations... Many, Stun,Reach all stated no cutoff date... So quit hearing only what u want..
exactly. only a handful of people who have direct access can attest to the truth. so far, all we know are inconsistent and unconfirmed statements from everybody. yet some people choose to listen only to one side of the story, which support their personal biases, and are quick to cast down their opinions.
First of all I don't just listen to one side of the story. Although I blame Arum for the majority GBP are not innocent at all. They are the same ones that said Judah had no business asking Mosley for blood test. They are all to blame in my honest opinion!
what decline? i have not seen this decline in Pac, i've only seen a better fighter. What decline are you referring to?
as far as we all know, the second negotiations was abruptly stopped when Floyd announced he is taking a vacation and has lost the "URGE" then Ellerbe and Golden Boy started telling ridiculous lies like there were no negotiations at all, contradicting their earlier pronouncements
