Arum tells Juanma regarding Caballero "Dont mention that name again"

I'm not surprised. Arum doesn't fight for the toughest matchups and then wonders why HBO treats him like an afterthought.

For the record, I think Lopez is better than Ortiz. He's more fluid, and he moves his head more...

But it was clear that Ortiz was a bully, but if he encountered an opponent who stood up to him, and Ortiz was winded or hurt, that he could not box off the back foot.

Cabellero has the power to possibly hurt Lopez, and if Lopez gets hurt, will he have the experience to hold on or box off the back foot?

I would probably put Lopez in with a guy who can box well, but has little to moderate power, although this may not prove anything, because Lopez may just bully him to win.

And they already tried puttin him in with a big hitter in De Leon, and we all saw how that went, but at the same time, De Leon had no boxing skills whatsoever.

 

Wait. Rewind. The "winner of Marquez vs. Vazquez"? As in a 4th fight? Did I miss something?

Also, Caballero has a very good chance to derail Lopez. He has an equally good chance of getting blasted, but he's a tough out. :yep The only super bantam I pick confidently over him is Izzy...and that's the Izzy of two years ago (now I'm not so sure until I see him shake off the cobwebs).

 

Well the "word" of course is that it's inevitable and that it's the only fight the networks want featuring these two guys. That of course is just the word on the street of course.

I'm gutted. If Juanma can keep fighting mandatories then why not Caballero? Oh yeah- it's because he could be a risk. ****ing Arum with bull ****. I'm fed up with this clown robbing fans of good fights.

 

sounds really bad, just to ignore the WBA/IBF champ. thankfully, arum does have an exciting plan for gamboa - building up to a caballero fight at feather.

but if they're going to ignore caballero - one of the best at any weight - then please don't bash up unknowns and bantamweights.

i believe lopez will go on to be a great fighter. i hope caballero will find something interesting or lucrative - bernard dunne, perhaps. parallel outstanding champs ARE a reality in boxing (Veeraphol Saaprom / Rafael Marquez; Brian Mitchell; Azumah Nelson; Pedroza and Sal Sanchez). it's such a shame caballero misses out on VAZQUUEZ, MARQUEZ and LOPEZ.

Well i hope people don't think that Lopez is afraid of Caballero cause he is sure isn't. I think Arum don't want to risk Lopez to face him cause Arum already plan for Lopez vs Gamboa around 2010 in which you people might not like it but it's good businness decision on Arum part. Lopez vs Gamboa is a fight i'll pay to see.
