I thought the reson floyd was able to fight on may the 5th is because it is in vegas thus bringing in money into the comunity

Mayweather pushed back his sentence after Arum came out publicly saying that he wanted the Mayweather fight, but Mayweather was going to jail and that they would use May 5th for JMM 4.

First off, this is beyond tax revenue. This is about the hotels, casinos, parking lot owners, food servers, t-shirt vendors, Henderson golf resorts, party promoters, cab drivers, police fines/tickets, etc. all generating revenue from a mega event in town. There is no way to calculate AND properly compensate each one for the loss of a mega event like this.

Secondly, why would Dubai even pay consider paying that fee. It defeats the purpose of 'winning' the bid in the first place.

Lastly, I'm pretty sure Mayweather (like in alot of cases where the defendant has money) had to surrender his passport when he was initially arrested and charged with the felonies. Are we sure he can even leave the country right now?

Yeah, and Dubai isn't as rich as it once was. Nobody can afford to buy that fight off Vegas, the amount of $$$ it would generate.

Arum is such a tool. Why doesn't he just announce that he is cryogenically freezing Manny, waiting for scientists to colonize another planet and then build a stadium, and then he will consider negotiating? It's more plausible.
