He didnt face Morales after he got beat by MAB and was showing signs of decline? Then also forced the 2nd and 3rd fight at 130 when Morales came out and said he couldnt make it anymore.

MAB one i cant knock on. The second MAB fight. Come on man nobody wanted that.

Also there was plenty of fighters calling out Pac but he went with the path of least resistance.

Soto, Valero, Juan Diaz, Campbell, Guzman, Bradley, Berto

I know Campbell and Guzman are old too but they were a much better option at the time Pac was looking for a fight.

Floyd's last fight lower than WW was in 05? Two years later he fought Hatton. He wasn't going down to 140! On top of that he fought Oscar at Super Welter before that the same year, he wasn't dropping two weight classes to fight Hatton. They met in the middle. He wasn't grown into a full WW but he fought at Super Welter at the PROPER weight the previous fight? Okay dude. I'm not the one keeping up...

The JMM fight is 5 years to late.

JMM is not teh same at 140 and above while Pac has become a beast at this weight. JMM has no business at this weight. JMM keeps on saying he wants this fight then why the hell does he keep on pricing himself out of a fight. He's teh one chassing Pac. You have very little room for demands if you are the one chassing. I like JMM. He's a great fighter but he's out of his weight class.

Of course. By 1976, Muhammad Ali was fighting Ken Norton and you could possibly say that a good young fighter like Larry Holmes could have been given a shot but Ali, even then, would have beaten Holmes easily, so there's that scenario to consider. For every upset where the young, unknown fighter wins, there are many, many more where the known champion would have beaten the green up-and-comer.

I just think, at this point, a fight with one of the young 140lbers or Berto is pointless. One day, they may be good fighters but I genuinely think that if Pacquiao fights them, he could end their careers. It could be another Duran/Moore, in fact, where the difference in class is just too much.
Yeah, I agree with that too but there's a limit to what effect that drive has. It's not going to make them into actual threats just because they want it more than anything. You could take a guy off the street whose only ever wish is to be a champion but it doesn't mean he has a chance against the Klitschko's. Obviously an exaggerated point, but you need two things: Desire and talent. Whilst they have one, they lack the other.

Plus, which of these young fighters would turn up more determined than Margarito? The way he trained was just ferocious yet nobody ever mentions that. Nobody says "He was a very determined fighter but got outclassed". They said "He was not good enough". It would be the same against a young fighter too, and instead of mentioning how determined they are, they would simply go down as being green and inexperienced.

I think it's a clear lose/lose situation for Pacquiao. Not only do they bring no money, they don't add to his legacy at all and they aren't a tough fight. At least with Margarito, you can say "He was much bigger" and with Mosley you can say "He has a huge punch". There are literally no positives to fighting a young fighter, other than the desire they have. Honestly though, I think Margarito, Mosley etc., have just as much desire.

Marquez can fight Bradley or Khan before Pac.

But Margarito is way way less skilled than those 4. Come on now. also much much slower which is a huge disadvantage against Pac.

Dude the problem with a catch weight is everyone has been crying non stop about those "horrible" catch weights even though the dude has only fought in two is entire career. I'm sure they're sick and tiered of hearing that ****.

And what does arum have to do with jmm vs pac being a competitive fight? I thought most people would be freaking out about it since their freaking about the old man mosley fight. Old man would eat jmm anywhere near 147, so what the **** is all this **** about?

Why take a fight u know ur gonna win, u know ur gonna get criticized for, and u know u won't get any credit for after u win? Let jmm take on ONE legit welter, the talk about the top dog. This ain't 2008 and we're not talking 135 here.

Since you're a johnny come lately to the board, you didn't see all the Floyd fanboys at the time, many of whom you agree with now, claiming Pac was small at WW and can make 140 easily. But my bad, should have known better then to try and discuss that with you since you weren't around. That's not meant to be as catty as it sounds either.

It is, but he's also way more relentless than any of them, he hits harder and he has a huge size advantage. He poses many different problems than they do but the crucial thing for me, is that he has genuine advantages whereas they don't. Sure, he had disadvantages but I still think he'd give Pacquiao a better fight in a rematch, than any of those four would. At least he'd land some good shots and be standing at the end of the 12th. Like I said, I think any of those four against Pacquiao, would be similar to the Hatton fight.

So now its a problem now...If my memory serves me correct, the knock was how Manny fights at catchweights for a title...dont try to spin it to suit your agenda homie!:good
Please point out to me in my post on which I've implied that??? Dont try to use another man's arguement on me in which I've clearly stated my reasons and that is not one of my reasons I've stated. I've been very clear on my stance...Who cares if you think its competitive or not its a fight that some fans would like to see.

Who the hell is Arum to tell somebody who they need to fight when he doesnt seem to have a problem going straight for another in house fight even if they havent fought a certain fighter or looked horrible in their last fight.

:rofl Just when I thought I've heard it all! With that being said, why is he fighting Mosley now??? After getting thrashed by Mayweather and having a draw against Mora how exactly has Shane earned his shot??? remember, you said we cant judge by what happened in the past (your words) You dont know what will happen. Thats the whole point.
