possibly true. floyd would take any advantage possible for this fight. they fully well known that pac was busted up bad by cotto and would want this fight as early as they could.

i don't know about this but as long as it is doing your actual job and not an election campaign or material, it can be aired. but the usual standard is if a tv or radio personality is running, he would stop appearing in his/her shows in respect or not to be troubled by the commission of elections of the philippines.

I know what you're saying about the logistics of running for an office seat but the man has a team to take care of most of those things anyways..before it officially launches. The fight itself is possibly the best boost you can get to be elected...win or lose.

In regards to just finishing a war, there's no doubt that it's a tough task to ask but it's not like such an event takes place every six months either..

Therefore in this case, he just may have to suck it up one last time... It certainly can be done realistically.

He's already a legend and that fight won't change that but most guys in the sport or people watching can only dream of being in a position to fight for such glory !

He's given a lot to the sport but the people have made him who he is also and that fight is the ultimate thank you for him being the multi-millionaire he is today.

If it's not done now...I too don't think it will ever be done, especially once Manny gets elected !!

Manny will not fight Floyd pre-election as his reputation in the Philippines is already damaged due to his infidelity and a loss would likely cost him the election as well as knock his status even more.

May is too far away for a fight this gud. But roach knows he needs all the time he can get if pac wants to stand a chance of beating floyd.

I'm a little confused why Manny has to run next year at all. I mean, won't he have about forty or fifty years God willing to get himself elected into state office? He's only got a couple of years of boxing left in him.

Now isn't the time to make politics a priority.

Not if he loses as his status is already dented. A ch!nk in the armour if you like.

And if Manny wins the election he will likely duck out of boxing in much the same way that Arnold stopped making movies. So, either way - March is too soon and before the election could be a costly gamble. If he wins the election he ducks Floyd and if he loses the fight is ON! Believe it...

Personally I don't think he comes close to winning the election as his infidelity and a dodgy string of 'hangers on' reflect poor decision making on his part.

HMM wasnt it Roach that got the March date into play in the first place. Im pretty sure that some of the posters here only remember what makes thier fighter look the best.

Bottom line on this deal is Floyd is tring to make the fight happen and team pac minus Arum isnt.
