Seems like Gato don't wanna talk about it. And @streetsdiciple isn't to happy about that. Now I'm curious....

I'm curious too. I don't see how Arum would have the authority to kick Figueroa out of Cotto's training camp.

Kenny Abril trains at the gym I go to. He doesn't have Pac's speed but he is a southpaw who is better than his record suggests and has a style that has similarities to how Pac fights now.

You guys act as if getting starched by Randall Bailey is a bad thing. He has a concussive right hand(not a whole lot else though...he overrelies on it. That explains why he has come up short against the best like Cotto) They can easily fly in another sparring partner since Gato didn't work out.

BTW I briefly met Gato when he fought up here in Rochester and did his weigh in at my gym. Nice guy. Everyone should check out his weigh-in video for his fight with Emmanuel Augustus. One of most hilarious things you'll ever watch...even if Gato didn't think so lol

That's what I'm thinking... El Gato Figueroa is much better than the remaining sparring partners of Cotto... 36 year old Fred Tukes, (7-1-1, 5 KOs) and 25 year old Kenny Abril (9-3-1, 5 KOs)...:huh

its funny cause i thought of him earlier today as good sparring for cotto cause of his speed and power. i had the chance to spar with him and he is very fast and slick. it didnt show in his last fight cause i think he was over anxcious for that fight with bailey.

Seems like Arum is setting Cotto up to lose, plain and simple.

Figueroa was the only decent sparring partner Cotto had, but he was sent home. Cotto will need much better help to defeat Pacman, who unlike Cotto, is getting very good sparring in his camp.

El Gato posted this on another forum late last night...

Earlier in the third, someone claimed to be his cousin and posted this, which I'm assuming is true since Gato didn't call dude out on it...

That or Arum just preventing some gym stories leaking out that Gato got the better of Cotto in sparring... We will never know... Even Gato himself didn't know the reason why...:lol:

The sparring partners don't work for Arum, same as Cotto doesn't work for Arum. Arum works for Cotto and the sparring partners work for Cotto, or Cotto's manager.

If he's getting fired there's going to be a reason.
