The whole A-side argument is bull**** in this case, as fan interest would be generated by the matchup itself due to it being a guaranteed classic fight... Spence couldn't make as much fighting anybody else and vice-versa. Instead of bickering over percentage points these last couple of years, they could have fought a whole mother****ing triology and made tens of millions of dollars by now... The short-sightedness is obscene.
A-side has been apart of Boxing since the days of ALI. There is no way fighters like Ali, Tyson, De La Hoya, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Alvarez, Joshua should be on equal footing with any of their opponents. While I'm not saying Spence is on the aforementioned boxers listed above level yet (he's not)...he's getting there because those fighters were once B-sides themselves.
I was OK with this garbage when I thought Spence-Pac and Crawford-Porter were possible. At least Spence-Pac seems to be fading so just get it done. I think both feel just fine getting good paydays for very winnable fights. Pre-accident I think Spence had more ambition and would probably be doing more to make the fight happen. I'm not writing off the chance of a deal being made though. Probably not happening until the end of the year at least.
