smart move by Top Rank, Arum is letting Team Mayweather know they got backup plans in case Pac/PBF falls through again.

Would it shock me??? NO. Arum will likely try, that way no matter who wins he wins. I think that Margo is about the worse fight that Pac could take outside of Williams

This fight is far from happening. Arum is just making some noise, promoting the upcoming Pac fight.

I would have agreed had Margo not lost so badly to Mosley. We'll have to see him in with a decent southpaw opponent like a Quintana or Collazo before I can say how much he has left.

Arum has become a master of making win/win type fights for himself. If Pac loses it won't matter because he was going to retire soon anyway and can still make a match against JMM. If Margarito loses he can still make the PBF/Pac fight later on and set up a Cotto/Margo rematch. This is probably how Arum thinks.

Poor Williams is left out in the cold again . He should have signed with Top Rank long ago if he had any business sense. He would have gotten all the big fights.

LoL, seriously. If he fights around May then you can say that Pac's camp was just BSing throughout the entire Mayweather negotiations because the first excuse of the May bout was that it was to close to his election period and the fight would have to wait til fall or go early in March.

And when PBF defeats Mosley, he has a back up plan as well in Berto. :hi:

Blah blah...Floyd will have better options, my guess is that if he beats Shane he will face Berto next anyways. Im pretty sure that Berto was promised something. Likely that he would get the winner of this fight, Fighting Margo isnt a great options knowing that he took the beatting of his life vs Shane then got the vacation. That would be right in Pacs wheelhouse. A fighter coming off a long layoff after taking the worst beatdown of his career. Its a pattern:good

    the scene...

This sucks balls big time.. arum doesn't really want to share the pot w/ floyd/gbp he's milking Pac too much ...

I thought Pac has only 2-3 fights left before retiring.. those should be reserved for Floyd & Mosley..

Btw.. this fight will be a sell-out in Texas... ;)

It's not the most ideal but definitely a very marketable fight. I don't think Arum wants Pac to fight Mosley or PBF until he can milk his fighters for all he can. Roach is clearly no angel but then again neither is Mayweather fighting bloated lightweights.

I clearly remember Roach didn't want anything to do with Margo after he crushed Cotto and the only way that fight could remotely happen is if Margarito came in at 144 but now he's singing a different tune because he got KTFO by Mosley and looks to be on the slide.

Hopefully the Clottey fight is at 147 because I'm tired of the ridiculous catchweights. Whether it is Roach draining opponents or Mayweather fighting bloated fighters from lower weights both tactics are clearly despicable.

If this is true, then it's time to dump Bob Arum, Manny.
