On the scene. Apparently Nishioka is out until May but Arum is offering extra money to Nishioka to face Nonito in March. He is saving Arce for June when the new stadium in the Phillipines is built and Nonito will headline the card there.
This is why no one will ever flock to Donaire. For all his greatness he is wasting time fighting someone the likes of Arce and forcing a legit competitor to fight early for a pay day.
I agree about Nishioka but i think Arce is a good test for Donaire. Commercially makes sense as well.
Considering Arum said he plans to have Nonito fight at least 4 times next year - and Nonito said he would like to fight 4 or 5 times - March seems like a ways away if 4-5 bouts is indeed the ambition.
Yeah really. Nonito could Fight in Jan, April, August and November, if 4 fights is the plan. If he waits until March that means only 3 fights at the most, and that is pushing it. But Arum is probably bullshitting as usual. :-(
Fighting Vic's leftovers is pathetic for Donaire. Fight Nishioka when he is healthy, fight Rigo, fight Rico Ramos, then move up.
Not a man who can be trusted, indeed. Here's the vid, btw, of Donaire and Arum talking about their future plans. The interview took place after last night's fight: [yt]zqbqKf6UUiI[/yt]
Nishokia is a solid fighter and a good fight, Arce would get beaten pretty badly by Donaire but its a nice name to put on his record. Fighting 4 times next year would be great but I don't believe it. Why wait 5-6 months before the next one then. Donaire has wasted time after his wins over Darchinyan and Montiel, he needs to be more active. Why not fight in December? It gives him 2 months and its not like he was marked up or beaten Saturday. I would like to see it but I find it hard to believe he'll fight every 3 months next year when his next fight in looking to be 5-6 months away.
Donaire, if he wanted to press the action would have brought educated pressure instead of stupidly lunging in straight lines and refusing to step around and throw from angles.
