How about Marcos Maidana? Maidana got that step aside contract from HBO not to fight Khan for three fights, Valero could step in and fight Maidana in a slug fest, then be a mandatory for Golden Boy's Khan.
valero can fight guys like baby bull at 135 and others at 135.no need for him to fight at 140.i like valero vs manny but why would manny take that fight and at what weight.
This would be a very entertaining fight ..I'd lean toward Bradley since he's better technically ..Hell make it happen !!
This is the best look I've gotten out of Valero and he didn't disappoint. DeMarco is a solid guy who had the right style to bother Valero and Valero pretty much walked him down and beat him into submission. Valero overcame bad cuts and fighting on DeMarco's turf and he never quit with his gameplan. Valero looks to have better defense, skill, and handspeed then I thought. His power may not be quite as big as I thought but anyone with 27 fights and 27 ko's, with a few solid fighters mixed in there, has to be a big puncher. He's still too reckless and suspectable to the jab, but there's a lot to like in Valero, especially his fighting spirit. He shouldn't move to 140 yet, there's some good fights to be made at 135 first. I'd like to see him face in order Diaz, Soto, Casamayor, Katsidis, and Peterson. If he beats one or two of those guys then a move up to face Bradley or even someone like Khan, JMM, or Madaina would be better timing.
I very much am eager to see Valero step up in class, but the idea that he would move up in weight and fight quite possibly the best 140 lb fighter sounds a bit maniacal considering the level of opposition that he's been facing at his current weight class. The appropriate step up would be for him to face an elite level lightweight before a move to 140 should ever be considered. And if Valero is really is unable to make 135 anymore then there are a plethora of guys at JWW that he could target that would suffice as a step in competition before he ambitiously attempts to climb Mt. Bradley.
I don't see it happening. Bradley is not a Top Rank fighter and Valero is a money maker. It would be against Arum's MO to make this one. as for a prediction I think Bradley stops Valero in 10
bradley is a big strong 140 .lber. i don't think thats a good choice for a guy moving up in weight. test the waters against someone a little less physical, and if he does well, then fight a guy like bradley. it's pretty unusual to move up in weight to take on a big, strong, physical guy immediately.
This wouldn't be a wise fight for valero, he should clean up lightweight where he's clearly the man now unless Marquez drops back down. Bradley is too seasoned and big for Valero right now with a crazy workrate and excellent stamina.
