To be honest I do not mind who he fights next. Winky and Abraham are the only names in the middle weight division that cause a ripple of excitment so when you considre the other names it all looks abit poor. But after his last few fights he derserves abit of a gimme in his own town.

Gary Lockett would give us a nice fight while it lasted.

Pavlik vs Griffin would be fun to watch due to their exciting styles. They are made for each other.Of course Griffin will be the underdog, but I am positive that he will make the water quite hot for Pavlik within the first few rounds.

That will be a night of boxing to really look forward to. Pavlik vs TBA in the main event with Abraham vs TBA on the undercard. And Pavlik does deserve a softy after the tough battles he's been through in 2007/08.

    Local News:

Bruce Trampler, Top Rank’s matchmaker, is close to making a deal with Rubio or Lorenzo to fight Pavlik either in New York or Atlantic City, Arum said. Felix Trinidad also had been mentioned among possible opponents for Pavlik, but those talks have cooled.

“Hopefully we’ll have it done this week,” Arum said. “It may be in Atlantic City, because the magic of New York City was Duddy.”

I was hoping it to be in NYC. Easier access for me to go.

for one, taylor vs abraham is NEVER going to happen. AA is content, as he should be, being a middleweight, and taylor is looking up the scales at 168. period.

build the fight up to what? pavlik wont be any bigger after dispatching a few nobodies, and neather will AA. They are both undefeated, pavlik coming off the biggest wins of his career, and AA is not doing that much as usual... the fight is no differant a year from now.
to hell with that... god since when did boxing get like this. Winky left middleweight drawing with the champion, is a p4p fighter, and if he wants this fight, and PAVLIK, even more important, want this fight... like they both have already said, and they agree to the money, winky already saying he will give the share to pavlik, then sorry... but arum needs to stfu and step aside no matter WHAT he wants. hes not pavlik. like i said... **** arum.

    fair enough...

People say Pavlik deserves an easy touch up... well this is it. I think duddy would take this fight... doesnt really matter what duddys fans want, their man will NEVER be good enough to rule that division, might as well own up... this is boxing, after being dispatched he can continue on with his career. But it makes a hell of a lot more sense then the majority of the fighters bob is talking about.

I'm finding it very coincidental that Pavlik and Abraham both have fights scheduled for June 7th in the US but aren't talking about fighting each other. Anyone else suspect they've got a "gentlemen's agreement" to face each other in their next fight after June?

As for his next fight I'd be perfectly happy with Gionvanni or Gary Lockett as they are the two mandatories for the belts he already has. Randy Griffin would also be good as it puts Pavlik in line to force Sturm to face him. ( probably the only way that fight will happen) I think Winky would be good but I also think that the fear that Winky's fighting style might make for a less exciting fight is a valid one.

Rubio I think isn't ready. ( Zertuche was a shot fighter in Rubio's last match. Something Rubio should think about before getting in the ring with the guy who did that to Zertuche ) Duddy based on his last performance would be human sacrifice. Andy Lee has to fight some higher ranked fighters first. (seriously if he's that good why doesn't he?)
