If you were a pro boxer, what would you consider worse

To get KTFO in brutal fashion, like this

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koe4Sm8nQPU[/ame]

Or to get schooled for 12 rounds in embarrassing fashion, (losing all 12 rounds, not landing anything meaningful, the other guy punching you at will and clowning you the whole time, etc ) kinda like Sweet Pea vs random bum.

    Outboxed is more humiliating.

Swinging hard and knocking someone the **** out with one punch doesn't mean you are talented, it means you hit hard.

Outboxing someone for 12 rounds, virtually shutting down everything the opponent tries to do shows that you are superior to your opponent in terms of boxing ability.

We've seen many people back to win a fight after being down in the cards.

12 rounds of domination >>>>> All it takes is one punch.

Let's say you are at your best (to get that out of the way):

You can come back from being KTFO and beat that same guy. If you are schooled by that guy, eh....you are just not on his level.

As a Boxer, you may chose the KTFO box.
As a casual viewer, you may chose the schooling box.

Why? because one translates to a vast crowd over the other. To the boxing community, being schooled "may" be more embarrassing while the KTFO is more understandable. It happens. To the casual viewer, the KTFO is you being schooled and KTFO. I can make a gif of that. I can replay that on the last 5 seconds of Sports-Center and make a T-Shirt/picture of it.

What's the worse? Getting Schooled and KTFO.

Good question to ask the Fighters though. I'm not one.

We will occasionally look at a guy's record and go "Well he can't be TOO much of a *****, he did go 15 rounds with prime Joe Louis!" or whoever, even if they lost every round.

We never look at someone's record and go "He can't be too bad, he did get KTFO in one round by Joe Louis!" or whatever.

    being outboxed

getting KTFO'd from a punch that you can't see is demoralising, sometime's fighters who get KO'd in such fashion are never the same again afterwards

Hmm I dunno its a tough one. A lot of it also how the audience perceives it. If you get schooled you've pretty much exposed your limitations as a fighter and you have been thoroughly and conclusively shown to be inferior to your opponent. you may still be seen as a warrior for standing up after 12 rounds of dominance and take comfort in that..

if you get ktfo, its humiliating as it shows you in the most vulnerable and scary state imaginable for the whole world to see. People will feel sorry for you and pity you more I believe. That would kill your pride. Knowing its been recorded and will be preserved in history. The fact that you are out cold on the floor is more harrowing prospect for me. It shows you in the most vulnerable state. Anyone can do anything to you..they could take down your boxing shorts, slip their **** in and you could do nothing about it..

If this is solely about my pride. I would rather take a beating for 12 rounds.
However if it's a question of health. I'd rather get stopped in the first round.

At least with a one-shot KO people could call it a lucky shot. Plus you'd be in highlight reels (albeit on the wrong side). Getting schooled for 36 minutes would hurt your credibility of ever being called an A-Level fighter.

Nothing embarrassing about getting brutally K.O'd, i'd rather go out on my sheild while swinging like a G than to get outclassed and humiliated.

This is boxing, people get knocked out. Almost anyone can get caught with a nice shot and go night night.
